Are undertale's attacks magical only?

I've searched on google and various forums and there doesn't seem to be a clear answer, the general consensus seems to be that they attack the soul and are magical in nature.
So... do they ONLY attack the soul or is there physical damage too?
What about weapons? Ex.:Undyne's spears and asgore's trident

We clearly see that Undyne's spear can harm physical structures as we see her put a hole into the bridge. As far as we currently understand magic can cause both physical and spiritual damage.

Papyrus' bones are also physical. He has a box of them in his room
