Are D&D Novels Canon?

Just wondering if, say, the Legend of Drizzt novels are fair to use for scaling, new abilities, justifications, and the like. Was considering doing a reread of the series and I wanna know if anything interesting I find could be used.

Hmm, okay. I'm not 100% sure where novels fall under the canon but we'll see what happens once I make a CRT :v

Oh. Huh.

Yeah. Unless a specific novel has been directly retconned, we by default consider all novels canon.
