In the game Pandora's Tower, the main antagonist creates the Scar 50 years prior to the events of the game. The Scar is a massive chasm in the middle of a continent, and I'm currently getting a calc on how large it actually is. However, there is more to the Scar than just being a big hole.
Suspended by massive chains over the middle of the Scar are the 13 Towers, a massive fortress made of interlocking towers. The instruction manual of the game that gives extra info on the world, states this:
Held in place by chains, the Towers loom like a spider in its web. Seeming to inhabit a space beyond the normal world, the Towers serve a purpose; they bind the earth together, preventing The Scar from widening and tearing apart the world itself.
Pretty straightforward. If the 13 Towers and the chains weren't there, the Scar would physically rip apart the planet. So, how much force would this take? I ask because ripping the planet in half seems like it would be less joules than fragmenting the planet or something, which I believe would be planet level.
