Alex?

Alex doesn't have a profile so I can't really make it there, but I have a question.

Since Alex was meant to replace Ryu as the main protagonist in NG, 2nd Impact, and Third Strike, would his story be canon? Alex beat Gill in a fight, but Alex chose not to kill him. Would this make Alex 7-A and Massively Hypsersonic, or would a rather PIS end fight with Ryu mean he's 7-B instead?

Gill one-shotted Alex in Kolin's SFIII Path ending in SFV, which is how the battle would've gone had Gill fought seriously. And Alex wouldn't scale to Ryu either since Ryu defeated him flawlessly.
