I have no idea, but shouldn't they be cut in half? The exploaion yield states that you have to cut the yield by half for non nuclear explosions, not sure if the calcs did that or if cosmic exolosions are an exception.
I think that it is because the explosion travels in a half circle with the ground beneath, but I am not a calc group member, so I may have misunderstood.
No, it's because the formula that is used to obtain an explosion's s energy is the formula for a nuclear bomb's explosion, and only half of that energy is in the fireball, so you have to cut it in half for non-nuclear blasts.
With tier 4 and 3 this isn't an issue, because we use the inverse square law.
