About speed being equalized

Suppose if Character A is FTL while Character B is MFTL+

Does Character A get upgraded to MFTL+ or Character B get downgraded to FTL or do they both get set to a specific speed?

Speed is equalized to the lowest one, I think

I don't think it really matters who gets upgraded or downgraded, the important thing is they both have the same speed.

It kinda does for stuff like BFR or time stop (if one has infinite speed)
