I've got some ideas for the setting coming up.
For now this is a glorified bump, but to give a preview of what I'm thinking of now,
Diabolos:
Welcome to the world of Diabolos. You are Fred, Ed, Jon, and George. Well, maybe you're Sarah, Tina, Donna, and Bonnie. Who knows? Whoever you were now, now you're someone else. See, you have been Isekai'd, which is a way of saying you were taken from your world and are now in another, only there's something very different about you now. Not only are you someone else physically, but you have their powers, their skills, their abilities. . . Oh, make no mistake, you are them, and they are you but, maybe you have their memories and their knowledge. Some of you may be wielders of the arcane powers of sorcery, capable magicians who can utterly destroy their enemies with ice, fire and lightning - Perhaps you are noble Samurai wayfarers from the land of Yamatai who can slaughter hordes of imps in one swift draw of the blade, or a chivalrous knight who can take a dragon's head single handedly. No matter who or what you are, you are in THIS time and place now. Gone are the electrical gadgets of the 2020's Earth, television sets, computers, or the internet. If you're LUCKY you might inhabit a region of the world with indoor plumbing.
Even the most advanced societies of the world are besieged by demons, monsters or evil doing people who don't value anyone else's life more than a half-copper's. No one knows who's responsible for the uptick in monstrous attacks on people. Sure, some whisper rumors about the common suspect of evil, Diabolos himself, but he's been dead for millenia. Some blame The Archmage Warrick Ezren for dabbling in forbidden magic, which he denies. Some claim that The Great Old Ones are beginning to stir from their sealed prisons, and still others blame the divine gods themselves for bringing wrath on the world down below.
Whoever's to blame for this, will pay for this. It is up to you to stop them, him, her, maybe it that's responsible!
