Made this thread for input and suggestions (unlisted abilities and equipment, powers for a Black Suit key, Prep time feats, ect) on improving Spider-Man’s profile, which isn’t the best it could be atm. I’m currently reading through his appearances in preparation for a CRT.

As for suggestions @Maverick, removing the Captain Universe section of his keys since it's already gone would be a good start. Whoever removed the key in the stats forgot to remove it there.

Honestly, afaik, the Symbiote doesn't really grant much for him aside from the limitless webbing, limited shapeshifting, and a more brutal mindset.

That's gotta be bullshit, I refuse to believe it doesn't make him stronger than in Base, it's literally something with his powers stacked on top of himself.

It didn't used to, but after every other Spidey media said it boosted him, it started to boost him in Mainline as well. That's why he wore it to fight Red Goblin a few years back.

Venom straight up says that the Symbiote never made Peter stronger. The Black Suit enhancing his strength became a popular idea in multiple adaptations. Eddie pretty much took advantage of the fact that the suit had Spider-Man's base power by exercising so he would become stronger than Parker

I think another minor, yet valuable start to improving the profile would be quality of life edits, such as bolding each of the abilities as thats become an aspect that's made pages so much easier on the eyes

At this point, the Symbiote had the power Eddie had built up over time. Remember, Eddie got the symbiote when it just had Peter's base power. He went on to physically train himself, in which we've seen just how much more powerful its gotten

So at this point, yes, it would make sense for the original symbiote to boost Peter upon re-bonding. Back in the Pre-Venom days? Not the case

Also, I’m not sure if I’m the first to being this up, but I think the justifications for his first key in AP needs to be reworded. I absolutely agree with him scaling to his durability, and the destruction of two tanks makes sense as a supporting feat, but the mention of trading blows with Venom and Carnage feels unfitting. Yes, he has traded blows with them, but nobody here’s really gonna argue with me when I say those two are superior to him and our pages certainly reflect that

Spidey has a large rogues gallery of villains he has fought/harmed/defeated who can harm himself (Green Goblin, Shocker, Boomerang, etc.)

We should could definitely reword that part with some more fitting examples

Mav is working on a Spider-Man profile rework in his Sandbox and I'm helping him with it, since the current one has just aged compared to the profilemaking of today. So I think a lot of the issues should be absolved by the time that's finished.

The only pain is the vast, VAST history of the character (as with most old comic characters).

Yeah, that’s unfortunately to be expected. Marvel makes this harder too given they don’t pull a DC and reset things

Plus, there’s the current run of Spider-Man too which is just….just not great

Right. Do you think he can do the same in his other keys? I'm almost positive that if Symbiote hosts like Venom and Carnage thought of this then they could do it too, especially since I'm like 99% certain that Venom should know about this move from the Symbiote's time with Spidey unless this fight happened after he rejected the Black Suit.
