His instinctive reactions will allow him to effectively evade attacks, and with his kagune, he can block light-based attacks. Adam's flight will be a problem, but Kaneki will be able to reach him.
What is that even supposed to mean? It doesn't mean it's non-combat applicable, he can use it but had no reason to as he literally stomped everyone he fought in hell and Lucifer was insanely above him for anything to work anyways.

I think what it is trying to say is that Adam would rather BFR someone in heaven then waste his time fighting them, but it doesn't really say his BFR is restricted to him using it in heaven.
