Ehh Gabe upscales from his value by stomping a guy who should be stronger than his snakes who are comparable to and control the source of that value sooooo, the gap is probably not that huge.

You can give Cuphead the Divine Relic charm if you want him to have access to all his shot types. The Super Arts are pretty interchangeable but I'd suggest Energy Beam.

following, dont know much about how cuphead would act. theme wise matchup seems great.

Thoughts on the matchup:

• Gabriel is obviously more skilled but Cuphead can kinda do the same stuff V1 does to him, which is essentially just "keep running and plinking away at him with projectiles". Both are very mobile and Gabriel will definitely get his licks in but with the smoke bomb (from the divine relic) Cuphead can avoid any head-on encounters.
• Inversely Gabriel doesn't really stand a chance to reliably dodge Cuphead's attacks, he's basically got automatic fire for all of them, can cover wide areas with Converge and Spread. Even if Gabe proved to be too difficult to hit, he's got Crackshot and Chaser to home into him. Latter is essentially impossible to avoid with how aggressively it homes. It deals the least damage by far but Cuphead's AP is higher so that's not so bad for him here.
• Cuphead is essentially just gonna play zoner and with his superior durability he has enough leeway to fail a few times, whereas Gabriel is constantly going to be trying to catch up.
• Since the Smoke Bomb allows Cuphead to get out of danger when he senses things aren't going well for him, and Spread being both his best DPS and essentially impossible to dodge at point blank range (being a huge cone of constant projectile spam) means that even when Gabriel gets up close and personal Cuphead actually holds up pretty alright. This is especially true if he manages to catch Gabe with the super beam.
• Conclusions:
  • Cuphead does way better at range, Gabe does a bit better in melee
  • Cuphead's mobility isn't good enough to never be hit but it's good enough to avoid most damage, whereas his own attacks will inevitably grind down Gabriel.
  • Cuphead's Divine Charm grants him fairly useful versatility, between healing, passive super recharge and all his shots being available to him, whereas Gabriel is kind of just a sword merchant.

In summary, the next time I check on a profile I've revised and find out that their P&A has been turned into an overlong bold-heavy bullet point list I'm going to crash the **** out. Also IMO Cuphead wins mid-high diff.
