    Nightblood absorbs Investiture. I'm not so sure that the Vessel of Odium can simply repel Investiture-based attacks if they don't scale higher than him in AP. Also, it was a completely surprise attack that took Odium off-guard which may factor into it.

    I don't believe this is because of pure Attack Potency, but its ability to bypss durability via destroying a living target on all three Realms (Cognitive, Physical and Spirital), which caused it to kill Odium's Vessel. The actual Shard of Odium remained intact.
