This baneling argument is extremely flawed. One drop causes a lot of destruction, therefore an entire baneling can vaporize a marine? That's not logical at all.
Could you give me sources for colossus vaporizing the entirety of marines? Or which troops can survive phase disruptor shots in lore? Or Nydus Worms being able to be killed by Marines? Although even if Nydus Worms can be killed by them, how would they even scale considering the fact that Marines would likely just use weak spots?

Banelings are acid based units so it's pretty reasonable to assume they do vaporize people. A single drop from them blew up an entire room and sent a marine suited person flying. The suit was extremely damaged plus tore off chunks of the suit and also melted together entire parts of the suit. Now imagine an entire baneling for that which is uncontably larger. The game mechanics aren't entirely unusable. Colossus for example, definitely vaporizes marines as it also does that in the lore lol. Basically there's a decent case for tier 8 SC for the lower tiers in StarCraft. Given basic units like Stalkers and Dragoons just disintegrate you on the atomic level by nature of their weapons. The templar are shocked before their very eyes in SC1 when the cerabrates regenerated from even the Dragoon's antimatter firepower. The 3 8-B calcs I know right now and their values are, Nydus Worm - 37 tons (deemed easily killable to even marines both ingame and by the manual), Inferior Terran replication of Phase Disruptor tech - 16 tons and 52 tons for the Baneling. The franchise is essentially built a broken inconsistent mess so I wouldn't worry about things that much lol.
