If character A can hurt a Multi Ton character, their AP scales to his durability. Whoever character A hurts, would scale to character A's AP as well. That is very simple power scaling. Since the majority of people in fiction lack feats and rely on fights with other people. However I don't understand what you mean by calculating.

A character build is irrelevant to scaling, but very relevant for calcs. You can't use his AP results for any calcs whatsoever, calc stacking is not acceptable.

Since they lead to massively inflated results, and can lead to infinitely rising results as well.

For those changes. A CRT if you want to go overboard, or you can bring it up in the Nier Discussion thread... Assuming it has a discussion thread. That is rather small and you can just bring it up there and make the changes. However you need to provide proof of what you're saying, for obvious reasons I don't think that needs to be said.

I'll just talk specifics.

I'm trying to calculate the strength of Devola and Popola. Since they aren't YoRHa they can't scale to YoRHa. So I was looking at demonstrations of strength and the only one I can find is them blocking an axe swing from a medium biped. Now a medium biped has the swinging strength to swat multi ton machines flying. So can I use that? Or am I stuck with mass of the axe and speed of the swing?

Oh?

That is perfectly fine. If that Biped can swing with that level of power, than yes those results would scale to both of them. That is just power scaling. Since they can block that thing's strike, and its strike was calculated to be a certain level.

Oh, one more question. How do things scale when a character loses control? Like, I'm using magic and going pew pew pew. Suddenly I lose control of my magic and I cause massive mayhem before I get it under control again. And the aforementioned mayhem is more destruction that he's done before. Does it scale to normal attacks/durability? Or does that count as an exception?

I don't know if you've played replicant or not so I'll leave the details sparse. But basically a character accidentally loses control and unleashes an energy blast that measures to be city level. Do all the other stats scale to city? Or is it considered an exception?

I planning on playing Replicant in the future, so apologies I don't really want to here more of this to avoid spoilers.

But just by that alone, I can't say if it'd scale to anything else. Since magic doesn't auto scale to physicals, unless we have reason to believe they can enhanced their physical strength with the same type of magic. Or another attack uses the same level of power. Just with that alone, no it wouldn't scale.
TheAngryOrange
Well...but...damn it I can't even clarify without spewing details.

Just let me know when you get around to Replicant.
