time skip didn't hurt Gio, yet that got negged.
Diavolo dying didn't harm Gio, but well, Diavolo's death got negged ad infinitum.
Mista shooting Diavolo in the back of the head and the random bird that flew by didn't harm Gio, etc.
The fact that GER and the guides both state any action/ability should be evidence enough, it's just, well, in general.
Actions that h a r m Gio though is when the automatic part kicks in tho.
