GRACE (9-0-0) I'm here to kill Gondor's greatest captain, but you'll do instead (Yor Forger vs. Faramir)

bump

i like both series very very much but am not capable of defending any of them
so imma just follow

Faramir has proportionally higher movement speed, slightly higher LS (though Yor's upscaling may close the small gap), and is almost 4 times stronger.

Yor likely has better skill, I haven't found specific skill accolades for Faramir outside of being a capable ranger and Gondor captain, which are good but not nearly as fleshed out as Yor's. Yor also has a massive range advantage and attack speed advantage with projectiles, though I don't know if she starts with them or not. Her poisons are useful, which Faramir doesn't really have a resistance for. She has better confirmed stamina too.

The big question would be how Yor's fear-inducing aura would affect Faramir, I honestly don't know.

Oh hey it's the match up you brought up in the crt, I must've missed this

From what's brought up
Her fear aura is noted to nerf fighting ability so that'd help Yor having the skill adv

Her poison basically makes her AP disadv moot since it's strong enough to kill an elephant while Faramir doesn't have poison resistance
She also got pressure points as another wincon

Her attack speed is over ~7.765x faster than her combat speed, so she can throw her poisoned laced Stillettos at a speed far higher than Faramir's

Yor FRA

Since Faramir can still kill Yor with his AP and (slight) LS advantage, would that prevent this from being a stomp?

Gonna wait for @Tyranno223 to come. LOTR has some pretty good skill stuff last I checked. Just the fact that Faramir is basically Anya on steroids should already give him an advantage.

Faramir does explicitly manage to keep fighting and leading the defense of Osgiliath, the Causeway Forts, and later the retreat to Minas Tirith while the The Nazgûl are actively affecting him with the Black Breath.

It does take an entire day for it to affect him. It's not on profile, but he would have FM and Poison resistance as a result. If I were still active here, I'd make a CT for it but... yeah.

His skill is also explicitly equal to Boromir and even Eomer does not exceed him. In short, the former is able to fight over a hundred Uruks long enough for his sword to break and, even then, his only noted injuries (which do kill him) are from arrow fire from many archers. The latter goes through the entire Battle of Pelennor Fields without a single injury.

That being said, Yor is a lot faster than Faramir. This can be helped by the fact that Faramir's Númenórean physiology gives him full awareness of his surroundings at all times + the ability to respond quicker. Plus the fact that Faramir can use telepathy to read Yor's thoughts, albeit that requires some focus. But it is quite the gap and Faramir has a weaker form of the blessings compared to Aragorn.

Thanks for the input man! Faramir's definitely got a good chance in light of all this.

How good is his poison resistance? Yor's can kill Elephants

Will his awarness be fast enough to react to projectiles far faster than him?

It takes a whole day of fighting and being hit by an arrow (unrelated to the poison. He was already under its effects the moment the Nazgul went into his presence) for a poison that is fatal for humans to put him in a coma. He could probably resist it for a time.

Maybe? While he does get hit by an arrow, it's only after fighting all day, being near the end of his endurance to the Black Breath, and in the middle of duelling an enemy captain that it hits him.

Lethal dose works by milligram of poison per kilogram of target's body mass, Yor's poison's lethal dose would be far higher just due to the sheer difference of a elephant and a person's weight; 2,268-6,350kg vs 62kg is a huge ~36.58-102.41935x difference
Could also get into some semantics of how the poison is absorbed since Yor's would be entering the bloodstream directly upon injury while I'm assuming the Black Death is a gas that's breathed in(?)

At best he'd be heavily nerfed where it would be an easy kill anyways, but realistically I feel like the poison is killing him

Yor FRA yeah

Also, the argument that his senses will allow him to react to projectiles several blitz tiers above his regular reactions is faulty honestly.

Hold your horses.

I wasn't arguing for Faramir. I specifically said maybe? as a possibility. And even then, that's only deflecting one attack. He isn't Aragorn who legit goes through a war without injury.

Anyway, oh right, I haven't voted yet.

Yor for the poison + speed advantage.

Grace started today then.

Votecount wise, this is almost the opposite of Faramir's match-up with the Prototype, cosmic balance or something.
