Unpopular Opinions and (Friendly) Rant thread

if the standards for deleting a verse from the wiki for a lack of support were consistent, most verses would be wiped off the site

-see youtuber make a video on how they hate powerscaling because of powerscadle
-look inside
-they can barely read the powerscadle site itself

Why do people say anticlimatic instead of anticlimaCtic? I've been hearing it a lot more recently and it's a mistake...yet I've even seen it in some media.

Hotline Miami 2 >>>>>>>>>> Hotline Miami 1 and its not even close

All of jpegmafias discography past 2021 is nowhere near as good as All my heroes are cornballs

Does someone knows how it's called, when a person just fully accepts themselves to the point he sees their flaws and considers them essential parts of their being, due to radically accepting them and just giving up on change, to throw away all stress that may come with it? And I'm pretty sure it's not just laziness

A random thought, but there's an alternate reality where Naruto's name was localized as "Nardo" wich is short for "Leonardo".
Would the series have been as successful if it was called "Leonardo" instead?

self acceptance?

Media elitistic mfs, when you enjoy anything that isn't extremely overcomplicated top-notch 10/10 niche media with hyperrealistic writing and don't glaze them for 10 seconds:

Any time anyone starts an argument over animation style changes and design changes I remember the meltdowns over the change of Sonic's quills some fans had back in the day and all my troubles melt away.

Share your unpopular opinions (and have a little rant if you want)
My opinions:
1. Transformers 4 and 5 (AoE and TLK) is not that bad, if they were part of an original IP then no one would complain how far-fetched they are from the lore of Transformers
2. Sonic Frontiers is a mediocre game. A bland Ubisoft open world game with Unity graphic and a confusing story that only fans will understand
3. JoJo should've been ended after Part 3. The later parts especially 5 and 6 are unnecessary, if you remove Part 5 between 4 and 6 then nothing would've changed really.
4. Halo should've ended after 3, not sure why many Halo fans still want more contents while complaining about the franchise's quality nowadays (same goes with many other franchises like Call of Duty or Dragon Ball)
1. Naruto is easily uni+ pre kaguya

2. Jjk is consistently beyond country+ ap although capped at city block level dc

3. Dragon Ball Z(Not super) is hard carried by its anime and movie adaptations(Still a great franchise)

4. Jojos part 2 is the worst part and part 5 is the best

5. Diavolo destroys DIO

6. Jjk is overhated writing wise(wouldn’t say it has good writing still) and pretty entertaining

7. Illya from fate is overhated

I hate when randoms start learning of powerscaling. As fun as it is to see more people around there's been an uptick in completely random youtubers just raving about how powerscaling is bad because of reasons (that have been answered 10 years ago). I'd rather it be a somewhat niche hobby, at least we wouldn't have idiot number 283742 coming in to say that dimensional scaling is pseudoscience (translation: they either didn't read any explanation pages or read them and understood nothing).

Anti powerscaling usually comes down to not understanding it

Like I get doubting dimensional scaling because we, empirically, know nothing about higher dimensions, but the scale was never based on truly real stuff, it was based on what we have theoretically applied to fictional understanding of it.

If balance changes only matter for high end competitive in online games the the balance changes suck arse. The reality is, the competitive scene is a cool way to call ultra nerds who put all their lives into one or two games. A game should change things for the betterment of the general player, not the top 0.01%

Ultimately, the best anti-powerscaling arguments come from powerscalers themselves.

Anti-powerscalers tend to offer solutions in the form of practices powerscalers already do and then they pat each other in the back for a job well done as if they discovered something that has never been done before.

It is true that most powerscalers barely even understand the fictional understanding of theories pertaining dimensions and don't understand these theories at all. Why do we laugh at "Is this Outer?" posts again?

Anti-powerscalers who are new to powerscaling are just as annoying as those who are new to powerscaling and insists Naruto or One Piece are universal, however.

Ok, so I’ve seen a lot of people on-site use the term “chinaman”, but looking it up, apparently it’s a major racial slur, so like, why tf are we using this word?

It has derogatory overtones but usually when specifically used to insult someone. Apparently there's a bowling move too called Chinaman.
In our case it is similar to "wank". When we say someone's wanking we don't mean that the person is jorking it to powerscaling, we mean that someone is overblowing the power of their favorite character.
In the case of Chinaman, we don't mean to use it to describe Chinese people but rather to describe overpowered Chinese novel murimslop 20394 chapter High 1-A+ Cultivatorslop characters.

That does make more sense, but at the same time, I'm still a little weary of us appropriating a literal slur, whether or not it's done with harmful intent in mind

It's not a slur. Also, if the Chinese users complain then we'd ban it. So far, they haven't.

You know, it's not really my position to argue against the use of a word if I'm not part of the group the word could affect, so if our Asian community members are ok with it, I suppose it's fine
