God of War Discussion Thread

I'm preamptively announcing that it'll be my pleasure to matchmake faye's opps with the rest of the verse whenever and however possible lol

Is there any way to make David Jaffe shut up forever? His bit of reacting and whining to every new piece of GoW content is unbelievably childish and annoying.

So from what I'm seeing online, besides the usual hate for playing as a women which is absolutely dumb, is that the main two complaints so far are that we have a cube named Frank and they kept the modern humor writing from Ragnarok.

The only part of the dialogue and humor I didn't like in the trailer was when Faye was first talking to Rue and Frank, "and you're a talking sword" did give off focus m vibes but everything else I'm fine with.

The game looks incredible honestly. And, dare I say it, based off the bits that we've seen already I personally even think the combat looks better than both 2018 AND Ragnarök. (tho I'm prolly biased bc there's actual aerial combos now LMAO)

Seeing all the outcry surrounding the fact that you play as Faye is funny as hell too. It'll never not be wild to me how someone could be so fragile that even the thought of playing as a woman in a video game makes them start having conniptions. Like, I need people to tighten up dawg. Seriously. 😭😭

What's funny to me is that Kratos is a guy who's alive for like centuries and they still want him and everyone else to speak "i shall strike thee"
There's been centuries from his past adventures and we not only are in a completely different place, but also face people who talk slangfully, cunning fellas and young people
but you can't possibly have another language or way stuff happens lol

A lot of details here, and potentially very large map.
  • There's a city in the clouds on the upper left.
  • A giant scorpion near the statue in the distance, on the left.
  • Several suns and moons. Maybe dead celestial deities?
  • Main area seems to be the telescope.

SMS will have a lot of freedom for exploring lore since they dont restrict to only 1 myth now. Definitely big hype for this game.

Okay, I'll leave my analysis and my points and theories.

We know that Laufey goes to a realm called "Everywhen," another name being "All-Time." The description in the Playstation Blog Post mentions:

Regarding this realm being transcendent, Cory Barlog talks about it during an interview with the new director of God of War Laufey.
We barely had God of War 6-D and we're already going to have God of War 7-D? Well, that's too early and a topic for another time.

My analysis:

I think this is the realm where Odin wanted answers, the afterlife and afterlife realm of the gods. What happens when the gods are killed?
And this made me reflect a bit during the events of God of War 3, where we saw Athena Ascended, who mentions that she reached a level of "Higher Existence". Perhaps this realm is the supposed "Higher Existence," a plane higher than all others, according to Cory Barlog.
And I think that Rift during God of War Ragnarok, that Rift releases green sparks, similar to Athena's sacrifice, suggesting that Athena has already been in this Transcendent Realm.

Of course, what I said might mean absolutely nothing, but it was a conversation I was watching, and I saw people commenting on what I said above, But I thought it would be interesting to talk about.
