Accelerating up to infinity

So yeah basically what the title said. How would you tier this if a character has a multitude of MFTL+ feats normally and can reach infinite speed via acceleration? Would the character be

MFTL+, up to Infinite

Or just straight up

Infinite

Somebody said that since the character is capable of accelerating to infinity they would just be infinite speed normally with no MFTL+ low end. Which is why I made this thread to figure out how exactly I should treat this. I prefer having a low end of MFTL+ if I’m being honest but I’m not sure how the indexing works for this.

That's a hard one. You see, MFTL+ is the highest rating we have that is finite, and there, the speed would be the equivalent of taking a luxury cruise from Earth to Proxima Centauri. Infinite, however, is just that: infinite. To accelerate to infinity, acceleration itself would need to be infinite itself. Therefore, I think it would be safe to just put "Infinity" for the feat and call it a day.

Damn. So that means a bunch of fodders are also gonna be infinite speed from now on despite not having a feat of traveling outside an infinite sized universe via accelerating to infinite speed.

Infinity is weird man. Like ∞/2 or even ∞/100 is still infinite.

Yeah I can tell. Kinda annoying how everybody after a certain point is just gonna be infinite speed now though. Even if infinite speed is supposed to be something only specific characters can reach at top speed and not normal speed.

eventually infinity, fiction doesn't care much about how and why characters reach infinite in any stats, if they can explicitly reach infinite speed via acceleration, they can do so via acceleration, and if they explicitly aren't infinite wihtout it, mftl+

So leave it as MFTL+, up to Infinite?

Some of the other series does do something similar with their AP jumping from finite to infinite. So I guess that could work if we’re allowed to do index speed like that.

Fiction can do whatever it wants, if someone needs a certain amount of time to speed up to Infinite speed, then the rules of that verse take priority over everything else.
Even if it doesn't make any sense at in terms of real life. Which shouldn't surprise anyone because that's true of everything in fiction like this.

Not unless we have reason to believe otherwise. It's no less nonsensical for someone to be Low 2-C in AP but have finite speed.

Of course, this is assuming the Infinite speed thing is legit. But the OP wasn't talking about that so I'm going to leave it at that.

I've encountered this before. It'll be like this

"Normally MFTL+, eventually will reach infinite speed"

Or even

"Initial speed starts at MFTL+, but will eventually reach infinite speed."

There's a number of ways to phrase it

Infinite speed was already accepted since said characters are capable of exiting their universe which is infinite in size via sheer speed after accelerating to their top speed.

This Q&A is only to figure out how to tier their speed due to this weird thing.

So MFTL+ normally, up to Infinite at top speed is good?
