Heya!

We all saw the big project of the Aura Farming League (at the moment of writing, Kevin Kaslana is winning against Doomslayer - Madness huh?), and I always thought about doing among this line.

  • 1 character per verse, 1 per person as well
  • Objective is to take them out of the arena, knock them out or get them to surrender
    • Kill gets the result to be a tie (all ressurected on the group phase)
    • If someone IC would try to abuse this, they get a loss
    • On 251st floor of Heavens Arena
  • Every stat is equalized to [Baseline 9-C, Baseline Superhuman Speed and Baseline Class 1 LS]
  • And everyone will enter an arena with a Tier 0 Beholder 100m above negating every type of spell, passive, and everything you can imagine
    • Sword-based characters will be given a 100% dull-bladed wooden sword with 9-B durability
    • Characters who use Lances, Naginatas and everything-similar-to-those will be given a quarterstaff with 9-B durability
    • All types of guns will be changed to the closest one possible in airsoft, with its AP being "10-A, 9-C with piercing damage"
images

And then only one thing remains, that differentiate everyone, something not even this ominous figure can take out of anyone

Knowledge, more known as "Skill" around here.

Everyone will have six months to train with knowledge on the tournament's rules
And exactly 30 days before the date of the first battle, they'll telepathically be told who's the opponent and about their fighting style
(P. Knowledge and Prep only for the first battle, the others won't have neither)

Anyone interested or should i drop it?

Imma give this 10 bumps before dropping the idea
here's the 1st one

This reminds me of a older thread, I think it was called warriors of heaven and hell? Idk, but it was basically a thread to determine the most skilled characters on several categories (Swordsmanship, Marksmanship, Jack of All trades, etc)
Anyways, it sounds like a fun enough idea

iirc something similar was being cooked by @Shadowslash125 earlier this year, but i'm pretty sure i have a wildly different ruleset and tournament format in the proposition

Would you nominate someone for when the tournament actually happens?

1000%, I'd Nominate Shirou Emiya since I've already debated for him before. He's probably not the most skilled in his verse admittedly, but I would still be down to partake and argue for him.

This brings a question to mind, what rules would be in place regarding characters known to use multiple types of weapons?

They'll* be able to carry the ones he'd like, every single one of them with the adaptations mentioned
Special cases can be talked about but all imaginable physical weapon will be made of a 9-B-durability wood and all types of "guns" will become an airsoft model, everything with 9-C AP

Nominating Wang Wei (Might change depending on the answer of my incoming question). I gotta ask, what about characters who straight up do impossible feats? Such as Ji Ning (Three Realms) dodging thousands of arrows that are much faster than him, from all around, without getting hit? Or characters doing skill shenanigans via their abilities?

i'm willing to bet all participants are able to do some inhuman feat or two lmao
It'll be a stat equal tournament, so if he can AccDevelop his way up into dodging all the other character can send... good luck for this opponent lol

edit: so far i'm seeing if enough people are interested before actually starting something, fyk

IMO we should all keep in mind that the meta is basically [Acc. Develop.], [Huge ass Intelligence section] and [Huge ass martial arts description]

I wish we had Dino up to date, as he is the most skilled swordsman in the verse... But I am currently thinking of Hakurou, will check if I can find a better one...

We should do something about slow motion characters though

More specifically Alice Fuji, iirc, she can move her body in sync with her slow motion, which makes this unfair as she will just blitz everyone in the tournament while they are frozen to her

I thought the idea was that everything is completely nullified except for skill shenanigans + acc development? And even that is limited?

But I am currently thinking of Hakurou
he'll be giving the gobta treatment to a whole bunch of mfs in the tournament, would be great

If "her slow motion" is some ability, it is being negged
if she can Acc. Develop. to see everyone else in slow motion, it's her merit 🤷‍♂️

omfg so far 7 nominees, there is a large possibility this tournament will work!!!
idk if the aura farming league will have an yearly periodicity, but if people show up, i'd love to keep making this every year

A delusional guy

So, from what I understood Stats Amps via skill/techniques are allowed as long as they don't involve supernatural elements? Like, this character has a one-shot amp by breathing in sync (so no magic) with his attacks, are these things allowed?

Is stamina equalized in some way?

Unless you bring up a scientific article showing that every human being would be able to do this, the beholder will impede it

Is stamina equalized in some way?
nope
see this as a foreshadowing that this will be very important in a controversial match lol

IMO skill includes utilizing all your available resources in the greatest manner possible to fetch a victory
So unless my opinion is reeeeeeeeeeeally impopular, i hope nobody brings someone with "<Superhuman" levels of stamina

oh, so amps impossible IRL are not allowed even tho made via "skill"? So like even characters that can speed amp at FTE with some bullshit technique are also nullified?

Well, that's good to know.

Unless it is a technique that "some normal human being could do", it is not ok

let's say holding your breath buffs you by 1.1x and not only is this something all who train in it knows, but it's knowledge they can teach someone
that will be a-ok.
but like "Cid holds his breath and gets a one-shot-level of buff because he's that man" is not cool lol

In Cid case specifically, it's about timing his breath with his movements to increase strength output. It's a technique other characters learn as well. What's odd/unrealistic is the level of amp they get from that, rather than the method. I think IRL we use it for gym/powerlifting to a degree to maximize our strength output, it just doesn't amp us to that level.

I don't mind how the rule is, I just think it's important to clarify what amps are fair and whatnot.

well, i'm inclined to say he'll get a 1.1x buff with it because i know from a fact that timing your breath is vital for professional sprints, running, gym and sports in general

Basically is like he sometimes can have a conditional Muscle Band lol

I will this beforehand, i suck at explaining stuff
as we're still gathering interested people to see if this'll happen, i'd be reading all there is regarding to how the nominated character fights and what would he do in this scenario IC

though i gotta say i'm glad i'm just organizing this and won't participate, because i'd hate to add this one to the list of tournaments i thought i'd go far and lose right in the beginning lol
