Not weird at all tbh, even if it's not Game Sonic the mf is still representative of freedom, makes sense he can go wherever the hell he wants and be fine.

Honestly I thought you were talking about Fourth Dimension Space from Sonic Shuffle for a second

Yeah I figured that out! That's why I said I thought you did and referred to Game Sonic as a separate thing since I realized that's what you were talking about. I actually used to have that book lol
 
Metal going bar for bar with Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles, Rouge, and Amy simultaneously is probably the coolest he's been in a while. Excellent.

I'm glad they're doing more animations, the Dark Beginnings animation style seems to be sticking around (at least for a little while longer). Maybe it can even be a mainstay style as well.
 
Apparently this is an upgraded Metal Sonic who can copy biodata (at least that's what they said at Anime expo).

I wonder if we're gonna get Neo Metal Sonic in this, or if they're going to keep it for Sonic 4 since I'm kinda assuming this is the start of the Metal Sonic promotion. :unsure:

My guess is no Neo. It's probably just gonna be an in-between state of Base Metal with a sliver of Neo's biodata copying.

However, that is a pretty decent and direct showing of Eggman having tech that enables Metal to do such stuff even without Neo. Besides Metal's Copycat ability of course.

Honestly, I have very little hope of Tails doing anything relevant aside from maybe a showing of his hacking skills. Which is stupid, Tails has always been a fighter even if not on-par with the top dogs.

Frontiers was a step in the right direction to remedying that, but I suppose we'll see.

I'm sure he'll have a moment or two to shine, but I understand where you're coming from. I always wanted a direct Knuckles vs Metal Sonic fight, but I suppose this is close enough for now lol.

Oh yeah the year of Metal Sonic will begin any day now 😎.
Anyways it's always a treat to see how Sonic characters throw hands outside of gameplay especially when the choreography goes as hard as it does in these animations.

I tried to do it myself based on the moon's movement, and cut the moon's diameter in half for this to be on the safe side

In the ending cutscene it takes about 3 seconds for the moon to cross itself, rounding this up to 5 seconds makes it mach 1,011. In gameplay it crosses itself in about half a second, making it mach 10,119. Massively Hypersonic+ and Sub-Relativistic respectively
 
Wanted to play with the numbers a little and tried to combine the "227,000 victories" from Team Sonic Racing, "900 adventures" from the IDW Special and a very rough estimate of all the robots destroyed in the franchise.

The results vary a lot, but generally speaking... we're talking about tens of millions.

I guess it makes sense, as Robotnik's factories are quite huge and online 24/7 (let alone the enormous resources his empire seems to have).

I would just label it as supporting evidence tbh.

The fact that the lore and mandates of the series still applies heavily to the game, to the point where it prevented several different playable characters (Super Neo is the most prominent example), is enough. It isn't playing fast and loose with the rules, they're abiding strictly by them.

Additionally, didn't Speed Sim just go through a second revamp fairly recently beyond the first one it got? The UI, some mechanics, etc.? It being discarded because "It's a Roblox game" is a dead horse at this point. (Not saying that's what you were saying, that's moreso a comment I'm making on my own.)
 


In Japanese, Crossworld's title "Winning Since 1991" is actually "The Lightspeed Winner that surpassed the speed of sound", and I think it's actually funny they are relating lightspeed again to supersonic (Btw, first time they acknowledged Sonic as going lightspeed in years?).
 


Here's somewhat of a soft debunk on Cell vs Metal Sonic that I found. What do you guys think of it, even if it's not really a debunk in the conventional sense?
My opinion: Man it's wild to see how people who don't powerscale see certain things.

Overall I have two takeaways from this video. One it's understandable that power scaling as Death Battle does it would seem insane to a casual even if I felt the video didn't engage with what Death Battle presented so much as it appealed to absurdity.
Second I appreciate how generous Death Battle was with both characters in retrospect in a "it always could have been worse" way, in no small part because giving Metal Sonic multiversal scaling in his higher forms isn't something they had to do to begin with (that part is actually generous, if they went with super forms varying in power and capped Metal Sonic at universal I wouldn't have even been annoyed) and because this video is a reminder that only eight years ago people weren't sold on Sonic scaling beyond planet level even in his super form.

Mainly focusing on the Sonic side, there's a lot of downplay and misunderstanding on why the feats are used but atp it's whatever
I don't entirely fault the Time Eater thing since yeah there's the whole "jumping back and forth through time" but I still don't agree w it either bc of Eggman's statement of having all time to do with as he pleases + his history of defeats encompassing other dimensions. Plus the Time Eater actually erasing stuff and not just "dumping places in white space"
