A Regressor’s Tale Of Cultivation Proposal. (Part 1)

This proposal will be focused on scaling a part of the cosmology of the Korean web-novel,
⟨A Regressor’s Tale of Cultivation (回歸修仙傳)⟩ by 엄청난 (Tremendous), with 861 chapters out. More specifically, this is regarding the 3 planes, and the True Immortal Realm.

Before starting the scale, it should be noted that the 3 planes are planes of existence,

Qi (氣), Soul (魂), Fate (命).
Instincts from three planes of existence lead Jeon Myeong-hoon, forcibly engraving into his mind the method to wield the power of the Red Lightning Heavenly Tribulation, the ultimate authority of the Heavenly Golden Thunder Body.

That are non-dimensional/aspatiotemporal:
(Note that this first scan is to show the next scan referring to “dimensions flattening”, is talking about actual dimensions.

In the superluminal speed that has far surpassed light, I feel a phenomenon as if the layers of the world are gradually turning planar and narrow.
I, who can sense the dimension above the fourth dimension at the True Immortal-level, begin having my perception degrade to the third dimension, and then to the second dimension as the speed accelerates.

'The world...is turning into a flat plane?'

The universe transforms as if into a sheet of paper, and Kim Young-hoon runs on top of the paper drawn with countless constellations and superclusters.

(Note that this just means there are only 5 dimensions within the material world, not that he can only sense the fifth dimension, as shown by the fact that the ENTIRE world appears to be lowering dimensionally and it is stated “the layers of this world” are turning planar and narrower, not just a part or a layer/few layers of the “world”.)

The “Gandhara”, is devoid of dimensions, having no dimensions to flatten.

The 3 planes exist within the Gandhara, a place without dimensions, meaning they are not intrinsically dimensional.

However, that is not enough.


My mind continues to clear.


The mind continues to clear endlessly, passing through the time of a snap of a finger (彈指) and entering the time of a fleeting instant (刹那).


Now, simply by clearing the mind, it feels as if the principles of the world, and the planes of Qi, Soul, Fate, and Immortality are being separated

Another way to prove this, is through the “Heavenly Void Furnace”, a place devoid of all rules, causality, and spacetime,

My vision reels.

My sense of distance and my sense of time are strange.

Causality, spacetime, rules...

I cannot feel any of them.

Everything is bizarre, it's a terrible sea of chaos like billowing clouds!

Pitch-black Primordial Chaos greets me.

"Keheuk! Kahahak...!"

When I meet this chaos with a body that is merely at the Nascent Soul stage, I realize that my very existence is being distorted.

Instinctively, I look back at the Heavenly Void Furnace.

I do not know why I was suddenly transferred into this bizarre sea of chaos.

However, one thing is certain. Even in this sea of chaos, the Heavenly Void Furnace takes on an intact form, and inside it, I am also fine.

Moreover, I now also know the method to split chaos into the three planes and extract qi.


The Nascent Soul stage, the Heavenly Being stage cultivation are all possible.


'Let's restore the body, accumulate the realm, and cultivate the Star Extinguishing True Chapter.'


If I do so, surely, even if I leave this world of Primordial Chaos, I will be able to take away a great many gains.

Now, on to the main parts of the scale, I will start with the lowest Plane Of Qi, which I believe should comfortably qualify for a Low 1-A tiering.
The main proof of its tiering comes from this scan:

‘The space formed by the plane of Qi…’

Everything under the heavens.

Everything that exists in this world is ultimately determined by the plane.

The matter of this world.

All physical sciences exist at the bottom of the plane of Qi, a lower dimension of spiritual energy!

And such spiritual energies interweave messily, forming the space of this world.

With my eyes that have reached the Nascent Soul Stage, I can see the energies that make up space.

How is it possible for those at the Nascent Soul Stage to slice through space and perform spatial movement?

With the Formless Sword, I naturally cut through the spiritual energies forming the plane of space, countering Jeon Myeong-hoon’s lightning.

Originally, being at the Nascent Soul Stage only allows one to see the Qi plane that makes up space, but actually intervening requires significant effort.

Therefore, freely slicing through space and entering the void to move through space is a privilege only for those at the Heavenly Being Stage and above.

This is an extra scan to show that time would also be included within “the plane of space”.

"What are time, space, and samsara? Space and time are fundamentally one and belong to the domain of the Heavenly Venerable of Time.

Essentially, the lowest Plane Of Qi gives rise to spatiotemporality/dimensionality, and such concepts cannot exist without the lowest Plane Of Qi, with the area turning into a “void” when the lowest Plane Of Qi is cut, acting like a necessary existence for dimensionality. It is also non-dimensional/aspatiotemporal, so it cannot be reached through any dimensional means regardless of however higher dimensions you stack on. This should qualify for a Low 1-A plane of existence, being necessary for any and all possible dimensional spaces.



Next, the Plane Of Fate, which I believe should qualify for a 1-A (1 Layer) tiering. Do note that I will be explaining why the Plane Of Soul is 1-A after the Plane Of Fate due to the fact that some of the scaling regarding it, is itself based on the Plane Of Fate.

The Plane Of Fate is a plane of existence above all spacetime,

They are right.
Even if I momentarily connect my mind to the domain that transcends all speed and spacetime, they are beings who exist so comfortably in this realm.

Existing in a “higher remote place”, guiding the “truths of the world”,

There are high and low planes in this world.

And these planes are broadly divided into three categories.

The plane of Qi (氣), which has a profound impact on the material and life force of the world.

The plane of Soul (魂), guiding the direction of all things from a position higher than Qi's plane.

And even higher in a remote place, the plane of Fate (命), guiding the truths of the world.

where all things are “anchored”.

Everything in this world exists across the three planes of Qi, Soul, and Fate.

Even inanimate objects are no exception.

The soil has its own spirit, mountains have their souls, and even stars have their essence.

Even lifeless objects exist in the Plane of Soul, and as seen through the Star Vein Eye, all things are also anchored in the Plane of Fate.

How are they anchored exactly? By higher (Probably type 1) concepts within the Plane Of Fate, with all things of the lower world being “materializations” of said higher concepts, which should include spacetime/dimensions, things that only exist at the bottom of the Plane Of Qi.

Salt is sacred.
It has always symbolized purification and is also one of the essential elements of life.
The character for ‘salt’ (鹽) is formed by combining the characters for ‘to see’ (監) and ‘saline/brine’ (鹵), symbolizing ‘seeing edible salt being made by boiling in a cauldron.’
While there are many words for salt in the Three Thousand Greats Worlds, ultimately, all are fated to converge to the same meaning above.
[To see].
Inevitably, the notion of [to see] is embedded in salt.
[To see] is the essence of cultivation and, simultaneously, a contemplation of oneself.
Ultimately, one can say that salt is the concept of ‘repentant enlightenment (懺悟)’ that had been pushed down from the plane of Fate to the plane of Qi, where it materialized.
Immortal Cultivation is essentially repentant enlightenment.

The concepts in question are described as “symbols”, and The Plane Of Fate is generally shown to be more abstract than the Planes Of Soul & Qi.

She nods confidently and conjures an illusion in the void.

It is a three-dimensional model of the stellar systems they currently reside in.

There are a total of four existing stellar systems, with a fifth one steadily being prepared to be created.

“For convenience, I’ll refer to the stellar systems the Crystal Glass Being has created as the [Crystal Glass Realm]. This model perfectly replicates the vast majority of the attraction force, qi, soul, and fate within the Crystal Glass Realm, so pay close attention.”

As Yeo Hwi gestures, the three-dimensional model begins to change.

The Plane Of Fate is a non-dimensional/aspatiotemporal plane of existence above all spatiotemporality, existing within a “higher remote place”, guiding “the truths of the world”, with said “truths” being higher concepts within the plane of fate from which all things of the lower world are anchored by, all things of the lower world being lower materializations (This would of course include things like spacetime/dimensions, which only exist within the lowest Plane Of Qi) of concepts within the Plane Of Fate.

The concepts in question are further describe as “symbols”, and the Plane Of Fate is generally shown to be more abstract than the lower planes.

This should qualify for a 1-A (1 Layer) tiering, being superior to spatiotemporality/dimensionality, the Plane Of Qi, and the Plane Of Soul through a metaphysical gap, such things being more “material” than the Plane Of Fate, therefore, being qualitatively inferior.



Now, for the Plane Of Soul, you may be wondering why this is coming after the Plane Of Fate. The reason is a bit of the scale is actually related to how the Plane Of Fate scales.

The Plane Of Soul is a higher plane of existence guiding the direction of all things in the lower world.

There are high and low planes in this world.

And these planes are broadly divided into three categories.

The plane of Qi (氣), which has a profound impact on the material and life force of the world.

The plane of Soul (魂), guiding the direction of all things from a position higher than Qi's plane.

And even higher in a remote place, the plane of Fate (命), guiding the truths of the world.

It anchors all things in a similar way to the Plane Of Fate.

Everything in this world exists across the three planes of Qi, Soul, and Fate.

All higher planes, which includes the Plane Of Soul and Plane Of Fate, contain the “metaphysical essences” of lower planes.

If one recalls the sensation of handling the Formless Sword, our material world belongs to a lower plane, and as one ascends to higher planes, one can encounter metaphysical essences.

Lower phenomena are materializations of higher essences within the plane of soul, lower phenomena being described as being “material” compared to said higher essences. Since there are many of these, i’ll just list many of these examples together.

The Formless Sword, the plane of Soul.

I approach the essence of myself.

A typical Heart Tribe member would only be able to use their Manifestation to fight against an enemy, even if their body is being destroyed.

However, due to my Formless Sword, the 'force' that had only stayed at the plane of Soul descends to the plane of Qi, becoming a life force that invigorates my entire body.

Through the All-Heavens Sword, I convert my mental power at the Plane of Soul into the Plane of Qi.

The power of Five Elements and the power of Yin and Yang cover my entire body.

Through Hidden Heavens Beyond the Path, I elevated the recent explosion entirely to the Plane of Soul.

The explosion occurred in the Plane of Soul, transformed from a material detonation into a shockwave that impacts the mind.

The Glass True Fire of Crystal Glass to Treading Sea looks like a flame, but it also possesses the properties of glass, solidifying into glass when it cools.

Specifically, it is the process where the painful memories burning at the Plane of Soul, and my clear mind deeper within, descends to the Plane of Qi as it cools, turning into glass.

"The power to manifest the phenomena within intent...!"

A person's intent, on its own, is merely the color of emotion, but when it descends to the Plane of Qi, it can manifest as a fascinating phenomena or power.

This is also analogized to things in the Material World being “reflections” of things of the Plane Of Soul.

'What's happening?'

For some reason, the Formless Sword is no longer manifesting.

The Formless Sword is created by shaping the Gang Sphere into a form and reflecting my heart essence to manifest it into existence.

But oddly, my heart essence is no longer reflecting.

Everything you do within the material world is also said to be external expressions of the “perfect” “immutable” “law” that is the heart, and “controlling” it lets you impose your ideals into the world.

Beyond Treading Heavens, the third phase of Manifestation is as follows:

The realm where one imposes their ideals upon the world.

But what exactly does that mean?

What does it mean to impose one’s ideals on the world?

Essentially, it boils down to this:

―What is perfection?

I recall the teachings of Jang Ik.

―The term ‘perfect,’ or ‘complete,’ does not exist in this world. Do you know why?

―…Why is that?

—Try executing a perfect slash, a perfect thrust.

I performed as Jang Ik instructed in front of him.

—Is the technique you performed perfect?

―…Yes, it is.

―Right, it is. But at the same time, it’s not. Would you use the exact same technique in a blizzard-swept battlefield?

―No, I wouldn’t.

—Conversely, inside a volcano seething with lava, would you use the same technique as in a blizzard-swept battlefield?

―Absolutely not.

―Then, let’s say both of your arms were cut off and couldn’t regenerate. If you were to perform the same technique by holding the sword in your mouth, would it be the same as before?

—That would be impossible.

—Right, it’s impossible. Therefore, there is no such thing as perfection in this world.

—Your swordsmanship was created under the same principle, and you swing your sword under that principle, but the principle changes depending on the target and the location where you swing your sword. This specific scan further illustrates each higher plane being more metaphysical than the last, the Plane Of Soul being similar higher form to the Plane Of Qi like the Plane Of Fate is compared to the Plane Of Soul.

The Heavenly Rain Great Star of the Star Shattering Stage engraves the form of Rain (雨) upon the planes of Qi, Soul, and Fate.

In the Plane of Qi, it manifests as simple rain, but in the Plane of Soul, melancholy infects, and in the Plane of Fate, darkness and misfortune gradually begin to spread.

The Heavenly Clearing Great Star engraves the form of Clearing (霽) upon the planes.

In the Plane of Qi, the weather clears, in the Plane of Soul, melancholy disappears, and in the Plane of Fate, misfortune dissipates.

The Heavenly Cloudiness Great Star engraves the form of Cloudiness (蒙).

In the Plane of Qi, spring wells gush forth from beneath mountains,

In the Plane of Soul, ignorance takes root,

And in the Plane of Fate, the future grows uncertain.

The Heavenly Want of Connection Great Star engraves the form of Want of Connection (驛).

In the Plane of Qi, vegetation sprouts,

In the Plane of Soul, ‘transmission’ occurs,

And in the Plane of Fate, fortune and misfortune are passed on to others.

The Heavenly Crossing Great Star engraves the form of Crossing (克).

In the Plane of Qi, it begins the hunt of beasts,

In the Plane of Soul, patience,

And in the Plane of Fate, it symbolizes victory in war.

The Plane Of Soul is a non-dimensional/aspatiotemporal plane of existence, guiding the direction of all things of the lower plane and where everything is anchored by higher metaphysical essences in a similar way to the Plane Of Fate, all things of the lower world being lower materializations/reflections or external expressions (This would of course include things like spacetime/dimensions, which only exist within the lowest Plane Of Qi) of the higher “perfect” “immutable” essences within the Plane Of Soul.

This should qualify for a 1-A tiering, being superior to spatiotemporality/dimensionality and the (Low 1-A) Plane Of Qi through a metaphysical gap, such things being more “material” or mere reflections/external expressions of The Plane Of Soul which has a higher quality, therefore, being qualitatively inferior compared to it.


Before we continue, it should be noted that as shown by the statement,

There are high and low planes in this world.

And these planes are broadly divided into three categories.
— Chapter 170

The 3 planes are a collection of multiple planes,

and the highest planes of Qi, Soul, and Fate, are all on the same level. (In this case, the highest planes of the Saha World, though it similarly applies to the non Saha World Planes.)

The Immortal Cultivation of the Heaven Tribe is a method of rising to the Plane of Fate.

The Immortal Cultivation of the Earth Tribe is a method of rising in the Plane of Qi.

The realm of the Heart Tribe roams freely at the Plane of Soul.

They believe that accumulating the cultivation of Heaven and Earth to reach the Plane of Fate is the method to becoming a True Immortal.

However...

This is a massive misunderstanding.

Reaching the Plane of Fate actually refers to the realm of Entering Nirvana.

More specifically, the Entering Nirvana for Heaven Tribe cultivators.

Earth Tribe cultivators in the Entering Nirvana stage do not reach the Plane of Fate but instead gain control of the Plane of Qi.

Controlling a plane!
— Chapter 534

In regards to the Planes of Qi and Fate, it is crucial to control their chosen plane because one begins understanding other planes from the beginning.

But on the other hand, for the Plane of Soul, because one controls their own plane first, it becomes difficult to reach the ultimate realm without understanding other planes.

Heaven, Earth, and Heart eventually become similar as they approach the pinnacle.

Finally (at least for now), the True Immortal Realm, which should qualify for a High 1-A rating.

Before getting to the scale, it should be noted that the planes exist in some sort of hierarchy.

There are high and low planes in this world.

And these planes are broadly divided into three categories.

The plane of Qi (氣), which has a profound impact on the material and life force of the world.

The plane of Soul (魂), guiding the direction of all things from a position higher than Qi's plane.

And even higher in a remote place, the plane of Fate (命), guiding the truths of the world.
— Chapter 170

The height of water is called the water level.

Then, if there is also a height to dimensions, what should it be called?

The term created from such contemplation is precisely ‘plane.’

There is indeed a hierarchy within dimensions.

If one recalls the sensation of handling the Formless Sword, our material world belongs to a lower plane, and as one ascends to higher planes, one can encounter metaphysical essences.

Those who have reached the stage of Nascent Soul can distinguish the planes based on the height of dimensions.

When I fought against Yuan Li, and when I fought against other Nascent Soul cultivators.

Sometimes, they launch attacks that Core Formation cultivators cannot even perceive with their consciousness, and the principle that allows them to split space and teleport, originates from the sense of distinguishing planes.

If one from a higher plane splits the space of a lower plane to attack, or attacks from a higher to a lower plane, then cultivators of lower planes cannot possibly oppose them.

Getting that out of the way, True Immortal Realm transcends the lower planes in a different way compared to how the planes within this “hierarchy” transcend eachother.

The True Immortal Realm is not structured like the Middle Realms when one ascends. Instead, it 'overlaps' upon the Heavenly Domain.

But it differs from the four dimensions symbolizing death.

: : The planes of Qi, Soul, and Fate. It is a new plane that transcends them. : :

It's not a plane like the overlapping dimensions of the Astral Realm. It is a world that has always existed from the start, but could not be perceived by beings of lower ranks.

It quite literally, transcends the entire hierarchy of planes.

Abnormal phenomena appear all across Mount Sumeru.

The Planes of Qi, Soul, and Fate.

And the Plane of True Immortality that transcends all of them.

Having to go under a specialized ritual and quite literally abandon everything, that is, the “qualities” corresponding to the planes of Qi, Soul, and Fate, and ascending to a higher plane.

According to Yeo Hwi, the first realm one steps into after becoming a True Immortal is called Vestige Liberation Immortal (尸解仙).

The meaning of the name itself reveals how one advances to that realm.

Vestige Liberation (尸解).

It refers to beings who shed their physical bodies and ascend entirely into the world above the Planes of Qi, Soul, and Fate.

In short, the True Immortal advancement ritual is liberation from the physical body.

That is, one must abandon all their ‘lifespan,’ ‘physical body,’ and ‘everything’ one has pursued in the mortal world up until now to reach True Immortality.

Simply put, We call this suicide (自殺).

Death.

Such a simple yet terrifying ritual is the only way to advance to become a True Immortal.

Where unlike the lower planes where you could freely manifest your existence to higher and lower levels, the True Immortal Realm transcends the lower planes in a different way compared to the difference between planes within the lower realm, making it so you are unable to freely move within the lower planes with your main body, the very hierarchy itself being no different to your dream, the inside of a painting, or video-game, undifferentiated in the act of being unreal, having to send lower incarnations to interact with the lower planes, while the main body is unmoving in reality.

“In short, being able to control attraction force means being able to move the hearts of True Immortals. The world is ultimately nothing more than a dream woven by True Immortals. We are merely their toys, clowns performing on their stage. Therefore, our own hearts are ultimately meaningless. The only thing that holds meaning is…the heart of the being that dreams.”

Why is it that, after becoming True Immortals who have transcended the Three Planes, are our actions even more restricted than before?

The reason is quite simple.

If the Three Planes are considered a 'painting,' then we are 'beings who have transcended the painting.'

A being within the painting could have freely roamed within it. But now, having completely left the painting, if the being tries to reach their hand back into it, the painting would tear apart.

From the perspective of True Immortals, the difference between 1-A and non 1-A is 0, meaning, adding higher layers of 1-A wouldn’t let you reach the True Immortal Realm, in the same way 0+0+0+… = 0. Correction, the planes of fate within the saha world is 1 layer into 1-A. The highest planes of qi soul fate are equal to or above the TI realm.

I disagree with High 1-A for the True Immortal Realm. I would currently place it at 1-A, possibly a layer into it bcoz of Plane of Fate.

Like I said, your statement was simply nonsensical in the sense that you implied because they're "composed" by multiple substances means they can't transcend it, when no such rule can exactly be proved or forced?


I don't know anything dimensional stuff and mostly don't really care, but nothing suggests what you said, when the novel verbatim and explicitly says immortals are the to the three planes like a human is to a painting, and you deny that logic based on pre perceived notions that (as far as I know) have no real basis and are basically unprovable beyond our own intuition, it just doesn't paint a solid arg ig.

There is also the fact that transcending the planes comes after a journey of accumulating power, authorities, and even grasping an entire plane in your hand depending on the path you chose, (baring the plane of soul which you have full control over), can someone composed of the same material absorb it to get stronger?
Can someone composed of the same material grasp its entire existence?
Can someone who is alive "fuse" with the concept of death?

These are meaningless questions to the novel, because they happen, and so we just assume being composed of a certain property doesn't mean you can't transcend it to the extent the novel described, idk what you mean by "bound" here tho.
