An Attempt to bring back a Verse (Terrible Mouse)

Likely a futile attempt, but eh might as well try.
A few days ago, a verse I was working on "Terrible Mouse" Was deleted, and I was told to never to recreate the profiles.
At the time I was fine with it (and still am), but today I decided to bring the verse to AltBattles, but first asked whether it was allowed there.

But I was told to try and bring it back here, due to how the deletion seems to be wrongly justified.

I do not care if the verse does get back here or not, but I'm willing to try

Anyways it was deleted by Antvasima due to and I quote

"Sorry, but an obscure web series about the "joys" of torturing children to death is beyond my limit."

First I'd like to address the Obscure part.

The Series (alongside it's spinoff) has been consistently getting over a Million views, with one of them nearly reaching 10 million Views on the official channel

with at worst having a few episodes being Half or nearly 1 million views.

so by any means, this series is definitely not obsure.

I feel like getting deleted of this is pretty weird, considering the one that is actually enjoying the deaths is the main antagonist of the series.
and I do like to mention, that after Episode 1 aka the episode where the Child Massacres Happen, alot of the deaths in the series, started to be around Adults and Teenagers, with the child deaths rarely happening, with (from what I remember) the only times after Episode 1, was 2 and 7

and uh oh yeah the Series is not about the joys of torturing children. I think it's my fault that the summary portrays it as that.

but it's about a bunch of Teenager (and ig an Adult) attempting to escape a hospital filled with mutant creatures that hate children


Not to mention that Vsbw has profiles about way more problematic stuff, like versions of Adolf and Nazis

and Media that has similar, if not, way more amounts of gore as Terrible Mouse has been allowed on the wiki


TLDR: It feels weird that Terrible Mouse was removed from the wiki, when other similar Gorey verse and way more problematic Profiles were allowed in, and Terrible Mouse should be brought back to this wiki
 
You should probably add the verse name in the title btw, it helps to attract supporters and it's encouraged to let people know the verse before they click the thread iirc.
I'll not comment (yet, at least), as I don't know much about the verse.
 
I agree. Haven't really watched the series, but based on the OP, the series more than satisfied the notability requirements for YouTube videos (which are variable, but at most, 3 Million views are required for a single vid, although even 250k could apparently be allowed if it's long form).

It's not a powerscaling verse, fits the requirements, and is an actual series rather than memes from what I'm seeing.

As for the problematic content part, there are many, many verses that are indexed that are way worse than this, so I think it should be allowed (although yes, calling it a "series about the joys of torturing children" isn't exactly the best synopsis)
 
I am in favor of bringing it back. While the premise is certainly, interesting, the reason for deletion isn't exactly a good one when we have The Painter (iykyk), who is someone similar to Mouse but arguably worse in every fashion.
All it really needs is just a new coat of paint and reword a lot of its words otherwise it's another Happy Tree Friends.
 
I have no opinion on this verse as i've never seen it before, but if the verse is really that bad, why not just stick a content warning at the top of all the pages? (I do recall seeing the pages not have those before they were deleted) We do that with other deplorable characters such as Judge Holden, who is infamous for having several child related crimes under his belt. (among other things)

That is all assuming i'm not missing anything regarding the series.
 
Well, I have likely misunderstood a few aspects of this series then, but even so, is it really any more morally defensible for us to feature it, especially with linked scans to child-torture and similar, than if we were to host verses of a graphic hentai nature? And several wrongs still do not make a right, if there are other similar pages that should also be removed. 🙏

Ant, we literally have Invincible and Made in Abyss, both world wide recognized masterpieces that are completely legal despite involving also children in explicit and graphic pain.

None of that is NSFW, it is fully acceptable given that's on YouTube and other public platforms.

And if you try to delete those two I've mentioned, I don't think it's going to end well at all.

after reading this content rating again, and looking at the verses on the wiki I used as a example.

I might have accidentally overlooked some stuff

considering the fact other verses that are nearly if not more gory than Terrible Mouse were on the wiki, I thought it was okay to just link the Gorey feat scans. as 1. I thought the others did too, and 2. I thought the notes only applied to sexual content.

it was until right now when I checked one of the pages I used as a example of an equally Gorey verse, that I realized that they don't actually link the Gore. and the ones that do get scans usually just show the aftermath (and I do like to mention, this verse happens to also have a child died brutally in the show multiple times, and that child was way younger than the ones featured in Terrible Mouse)

so ig I also misunderstood some stuff, and if I had actually known these beforehand, I would have just referenced the feats instead of linking them

For Made in Abyss, here you go, tho verse is scanless due to it being outdated for most of it.

For Invincible, Thragg's AP section is kinda filled with gory stuff, including where he tore apart Oliver, who was a child at the time.

Then we have literal and actual IRL gore or explicit showings of suicide and mutilation involving minors or still high schoolers.

Regardless, I don't understand what's the issue. If it's hosted on YouTube, then it's not NSFW so it's ok to go on Fandom lol.

This meets the notability requirements. The question becomes whether we'd consider this in violation of our content rating scale. As we rate verses by sexual content, this is a complicated question. Looking more into it than one would wish, the verse appears to include:

incestuous **** and other sexual content involving minors, although apparently the creator has retconned their age after their sexual instances

So. That leaves us in a predicament. It is tempting to compare it to certain other franchises, in that light, which are currently accepted on the wiki; it is also worth pointing out that because this verse is much smaller than others, these things take up more space in the verse's overall real estate. It would certainly seem to be at the very least a 3 on the Content Rating Scale; the question is whether we consider the actual intent here to be sexual and a central focus of the verse. My current leaning is "no, it's just really gross".

I will say, as an enjoyer of a lot of really grisly verses, this shit does suck, badly. It certainly is actively leaning into the edgy "we kill children and we like it" thing, or at least started out that way.

I'll just spectate, but just I suspected. First I'll have to ask this before just being passive:

Ant, since when is morality an unwritten rule to getting a verse on-site? You haven't proven that the verse is hentai level and you know that you don't have too good of a memory long term and little time for each notification out of an ocean of notifications you deal with daily.

A lot of the "whataboutisms" are pretty pointless, in this thread; Invincible isn't on the same level, the Nazi buzzword mentioned by the OP is obviously silly, but Art the Clown is a pretty comparable case of "sadism for the sake of sadism". It features about as much sexual content (by a certain definition of sexual), and is nearly as vile, though the thing mentioned in spoilers is, as far as I know, pretty well beyond Terrifier. I think it is a comparison at least worth considering, though.

The YouTube point is, itself, pointless, when YouTube does fuckall management of its content, tbh. Naked Yoga was on YouTube for like... years, without being stricken.

My idea was that it'd be pretty damn hypocritical if we nuke a verse just because it involves graphic violence on minors when we do index verses when that happens too and is even the point of some scans (though I did skip the incest stuff lol, but if that ain't a hentai that's focused on that then it's whatever from our policies).

Also by Invincible I meant the stuff involving Conquest, the guy pretty much is a cannibal on screen and also was torturing and about to mutilate a child Oliver for the sake of sadism.

Also a lot less bad than the current thing, but yes, another "shock" verse that is, itself, bad. I do think Terrible Mouse would be the champion "hedonistic, sadistic excess" poster child on the wiki if it remains. I don't necessarily consider this evidence for its removal, but I think it has the worst content of anything on here thus far. Probably for the best we're discussing it formally either way, if only to come to that formal agreement.
 
I'm currently leaning towards not allowing the verse to return, but I'll wait for now.

The "Acceptable Content Rating Scale" page only mentions sexual content, and only level 4 is prohibited for indexing. I haven't seen anything in the series so far that comes close to literal hentai.

Is it because of incest? But first, where does it say that if a work has incest it's not allowed on the wiki? And if there is a rule like that, why would works with incest be prohibited while works with massacres and **** are allowed?

And about sexual content involving minors... like... would we remove Dragon Ball from the wiki because in the beginning there were a lot of sexual jokes involving Bulma who was underage? Because again, I don't think there are rules involving that on the wiki, there are no parameters, no established rules, etc.

I agree, never watched it, there's way worse things than a mouse that tortures children in VSBW, just put a mature content tag and it's fine.
