The prime world is currently accepted as infinite in size due to the void.
However the evidence is rather weak as it is all reliant on a singular statement shadow says based on his visual perspective about the void. He outright says that he's not sure what is even in the void, why would he know the grandness of it as a cosmological structure? His statement of it appearing as eternal darkness is that of a hyperbole from his perspective, since he again directly says he really doesn't know what's deeper within and he can't visually see deeper due to its darkness as he saw the Chaos Emerald fall within it. The key words he directly says before he describes the void are "From what I can tell" further iterating his uncertainty surrounding it. An unexplored cave that you cant see anything besides pure darkness is can also be described in a similar hyperbolic way from someone's perspective.
I also don't know why the French localization would be used for an Canadian-American English written show, but the English dialogue should take priority. Even if we were to use it, it would essentially still be saying the exact same thing in a hyperbolic way from Shadow's perspective as I described above.
Overall, the claim from shadow isn't reliable or literal, and the main universe (or prime world) should be downgraded to finite sizes again.
