Blood Demon Art: Infinite Discussion (A Kimetsu No Yaiba Discussion Thread)

I'm just using this pfp out of spite.

Sure buddy

just saw somebody made a Muzan matchup

Hey, i watched Infinite Castle 1 (and i've read the manga too, but it's been a couple of years) and i think i'd like to know:

Ain't Akaza's immo type 3 level enough to get him a w against at least Doma? I really think against Kokushibo too, but i'd like to hear opinions in the prior first

Don’t think so since demon battles are decided via absorption anyways, so his ability to regenerate his head wouldn’t really change much.

nope. the only way demons can beat each other is by absorption. and the only way a fight can lead to getting absorbed is probably incapacitation. so having better regeneration isn't gonna help. it all comes down to physicals and powers.

absorption
absorption
Well, the only way one could absorb the other is by being able to beat the other enough to do so (to incap, as @Machmatej said) and if you regen better than your opposition you're harder to incap, no?
Also, Doma's main thing is cutting the opponent and their duel seems to have been quite a while ago, while Akaza's skill just improved over time, with him dealing pretty fine with getting his limbs severed over and over again

So all indicates that he's not taking an L against Doma again

In a way, sure, but Akaza hasn't demonstrated such regeneration. regenerating your head or regenerating slightly faster than your opponent is gonna be pretty useless if he can just pin you down and suck you into his stomach (similar to what Doma did to Shinobu)

His main thing is freezing while cutting things. so all the skill in the world would still be pretty useless if Akaza has no answer to getting frozen from all angles (Doma's clones have the same output as himself), which is gonna make the process of incapacitation and absorption even easier. and considering Doma is significantly younger than Akaza and still managed to overtake him in rank suggests his growth rate is exceptional. since he has twice the bigger palette (as he eats both men and women) and a bigger appetite (since Doma almost solely fights for the purpose of eating/absorbing his opponent), it's reasonable to assume that Doma's gotten far more powerful over the years as well.

So all indicates that he's not taking an L against Doma again
All things considered, I'd still give it to Doma.

But Akaza faced way more skillfully an even more dangerous situation and was not going to lose if not for remembering his past (Let's be honest that facing Tanjiro w/ Transparent World and Giyuu is way harder than facing Kanao and Inosuke, despite the latter party not being a pushover by any possible parameter, don't get me wrong), so it is not very plausible to assume that Doma is going to achieve this with ease.

By knowing this, since they've battled before, and having his skill improved together with ranged options too, it should not be an easy process. Nothing indicates, afaik, that his first W was easy, and he doesn't seem to resist the stuff that compose the Compass Needle
Doma is also very overconfident, so by getting his ass in danger before figuring he's in a threatening situation, he may not have enough to properly end Akaza

Idk, nothing is convincing me that he at least has a chance, and Compass Needle is an impressive hax that what we see of Doma can't deal with

Akaza definitely had a harder fight initially, but the thing is he had his full power at his disposal throughout the entirety of the fight. Doma started off his fight by toying with Shinobu, even while decomposing her poisons, and killed her off without even using his strongest techniques like the clones or ice buddha, while praising her for her hard work. He kind of just let Shinobu run into her own death. The only moment he actually got serious is when the poison started affecting him, his clones started melting, and he was weakened down to upper 6-5 level. There's no proof Akaza would've stood his ground under the same kind of pressure, or even decomposed the poison like Doma did.

Well, Doma already took two direct blows from Akaza and his only reaction was "eh ig you're a bit stronger than before", and told Kokushibo he was basically just ******* around with Akaza since "there's no way" they could actually ever lose to Akaza. It's like playfighting with your cat. Does it scratch and bite you? Sure, but can it really threaten your life? Of course not, so why bother hitting back? Akaza didn't even retort this, he kind of just took it like a good boy.

Nah, Doma knows when to quit. When his clones started melting from the poison, he immediately locked in with the ice buddha and tried freezing Kanao and Inosuke solid, without even trying to toy with them like he previously did throughout the entirety of their confrontation. If Doma senses he's in danger, he'll respond accordingly.

Idk, nothing is convincing me that he at least has a chance, and Compass Needle is an impressive hax that what we see of Doma can't deal with
He doesn't even really need to deal with it though. It attracts Akaza's fists to someone's weak points, senses their battle spirit, and basically gives him precog. But as a demon, there really aren't any real weak points to his body that another demon can exploit, and sensing battle spirit is gonna be useless considering getting close to him is just gonna lead to getting frozen solid.

Doma vs Akaza is boring but also just screams favoritism without much narratively convincing it as serious.
