This is actually addressed already, granted I don't blame people for forgetting since it IS Mimzie. Literally nobody knows what actually happened to them, only that big players started disappearing and eventually their screams were herd on the broadcasts. So as far as people in-verse knows Alastor just has them trapped in a infinite-saw trap in a basement or somethin

And like, can you show me a Sinner coming back after blowing up? It's the same situation as the Exorcists being "invincible," no?

I don't think he said Alastor can negate resistance, just that he is closest to have arguments for that. Besides, Alastor was dismissed by her and pretty much everyone because he became more irrelevant after 7 years absence. By the same logic, Alastor is not the strongest Sinner because no Overlord trembles in fear before him despite him having toppled all Overlords.

And like, can you show me a Sinner coming back after blowing up? It's the same situation as the Exorcists being "invincible," no?

We have confirmation of Sinner being blown up and dying, and then we see he comes back relatively quickly. With Exorcists, all we have is statements and no actual showcases of being invincible in a sense of being invulnurable. They are probably just very strong (about Overlord level, I'd imagine).

Also given his decent standings with Zestial we can probably infer that Carmilla knows enough about Alastor that he's not out to kill her and/or is far too stubborn to reveal his secrets. Like this was decades ago anything she would've tried would've happened LONG before the story
