Shantae:The Knight:
Low 7-B vs 9-A character... I wonder who wins hmmm

I managed to screw up my read of the title bad enough that I thought it said Shovel Knight instead of just "The Knight"

Funnily enough he's also horribly outdated

Still got no way to take er down. Like if it was Shade Lord maybe the void would corrupt Shantae but then Shantae would just die so not a very good option either.
Spoilers, Silksong ending. The Knight now has full control of the void, and Shantae has no means of hurting the Lord of Shades. Even without, she can't hit the shade for any damage. Also, I believe 9-B is seriously outdated.

Knight. In fact, the Hollow Knight verse absolutely deserves an upgrade. Lord of Shades is at least planetary, and Hornet is capable of pocket dimension creation that scales to GMS (shook a city by thrashing)

What is it with Indie verses being outdated as hell actually, thought at least Hollow Knight would be worked on more with how critically acclaimed it is.

again, I know the feeling with Shovel Knight

Question.
Are Knights soul hax spammable (his nails)?
The Knight’s SOUL hax with the nail comes from the fact that each time the Knight lands a hit with its Nail, it’d be absorbing a small portion of Shantae’s Soul, Mind and Life-Force. So as long as the Knight is getting repeated hits off on Shantae here, then it IS in a way spammable.

Also the way The Knight’s equipment is set up here is too vague, the Knight has over 40 charms to choose from and can only realistically equip like 5-7 without being overcharmed. Same thing with the spells, with the Knight’s spells having a base and an upgraded version.

It’s a stomp in favor of Shantae, the AP gap is too big and having speed equalized would make her reaction speed way faster than the Knight’s assuming both of her values are baseline due to lack of scans. Only way to make this slightly fairer is to unequalize speed and specify what Charms the Knight has.

Also I know I’m a little late, but the part about Shantae not being able to kill the Shade is untrue, while it DOES have Elemental Intangibility it can still be harmed and killed by physical weaponry, the page itself even says so.

With Shantae MASSIVELY outscaling both The Knight and the Shade, it shouldn’t be THAT hard for Shantae to do. It’s regeneration may pose a bit of a problem but the kind of Regeneration it has isn’t really specified, so it’s assumed to be High-Mid, and with an AP difference THAT big, it should be extremely easy for Shantae to land a killing blow on it that exceeds the Shade’s regen, one touch unironically disintegrates the fella.

That's the little baby Shade, of course Shantae can hurt it.
I'm talking about this guy.

I mean I guess, but isn’t that only accessible with equipment that isn’t specified here?

Also, isn’t the Knight becoming the Shade Lord dependent on them being within Godhome/The Dream Realm and is the result of them ascending to the top of the Pantheon AFTER defeating the Absolute Radiance?

(I do acknowledge that something within Silksong may make me eat these words, but I haven’t played it fully so I’m still trying to get there.)

This. Every ending of Hollow Knight (except sealed siblings and the hollow knight) end with The Knight controlling the entire void as lord of shades in Silksong.

Mmm, I see.

But then that makes it slightly more confusing, are we using The Knight from Hollow Knight or it from Silksong? They’re two different points in time considering SS is a sequel plus Silksong as a whole hasn’t been added to VS Battles.

If it’s from Hollow Knight, then it’d most likely be The Knight and it’s Shade because The Lord of Shades isn’t a DBZ transformation that The Knight can just tap into and turn on and off, from my understanding it’s The Knight literally becoming a god. It’s not exactly something the Knight can revert after becoming, especially with its physical body being torn apart IN said endings.

If it’s from Silksong, then it’d just be Shantae vs The Lord of Shades.

Yep. As The Knight's page currently stands, Shantae wins. I was pointing out that after an upgrade, if we were using Lord of Shades based on the timing of this thread (post-Silksong) and the new upgrades would be applied, The Knight would win.

Mmm, that’s fair.

Though, I believe that Shantae mainly wins due to how vague the Knight’s setup here, and mainly due how everything is set up overall.

If speed was unequalized (and this is assuming Shantae scales to baseline due to lack of scans), The Knight would be faster than both her travel/combat speed by a LOT, and the Knight would even outspeed her reaction time via certain charms and the Nail Arts.

Theres also Charms that if the Knight got lucky, would negate one of Shantae’s attacks and give The Knight another chance.

That would mostly mean that this page gonna be deleted once the Knight gets the upgrades? (Sorry for my bad english anyways...)
