Isn't he technically considered an opponent? And with the flight mode as well as the wheels of the vehicule, Kai should have a less harder time in the terrain, unlike McQueen who has to race throught desert, snow and mountain parts

I think the hax comes mostly from items that can be picked up. Not the vehicles themselves. Amps kind of yeah. You can boost if you drift enough.
