Basically, if he gets lured/teleported/BFR'd in a room full of gasoline, fireworks and firecrackers and it suddenly bursts into flames and explodes (9b-9a), would his soul leave the doll and try to posses other things or it will stay and control individual appendages of that doll?

Nah, his spirit is bound by voodoo rules. Chucky needs to chant an incantation before he can possess another doll, and he can’t do that considering his body explodes in the scenario you described. He usually gets rebuilt by his cult members though. In cult of chucky, it’s shown that he can possess multiple dolls (or people), but it’s still through ritual, not by default.

Yes. And even if he could possess other dolls without help, that would still take some time. Literally useless in a vs match up.
