The Revenant Marvel Comics Discussion Thread

How so? I know that series makes a ton of deep cuts as is (they brought back Cobweb from the old Sleepwalker comics as a villain for an arc).
Arcade's sister Arcata is causing superhuman fighting to turn into death games for entertainment. Given recent comments about us in other comics, I thought that this might also be a jab in our direction, but I may just be too paranoid. 🙏

Nah, Arcata's literally just female Arcade, that's just a normal Tuesday for her. Though if I'm allowed to ask, what do you mean by "recent comments about us in other comics"?

Al Ewing's Thor, and likely Kieron Gillen's Power Fantasy (if I remember the name correctly), for example. 🙏

Hmm. My current guess for the "Imperial" storyline is that the Magus and the Grandmaster are the ones who engineered it, based on the current visual clues. 🙏

So the Godzilla destroys the Marvel Universe comic is out and uh a QnA from the author came out where he insists it's in the 616 universe.

I found these comments interesting
-The story is canon to 616, stated here, here and here is my question about the same thing
-The story was heavily discussed with bigwigs from Marvel and Toho
-More about Toho and also about the connection to 60s Godzilla
-It's the same Godzilla as the one from the 60s
-The one-shots were made to be connected, though its written weirdly, except for the contradictions
-The characters are meant to be at their most evergreen and recognizable state here

Well this will be interesting....

Also can someone screenshot the replies? Reddit suddenly isn't working for me rn and If it gets deleted for some reason it'd be annoying

Apparently Goji is gonna somehow break his way into the Dark Dimension and at some point in the run he's gonna fight Hulk and its gonna be one of the craziest fights in the run according to the writer.

Is this the same as the comic of Thor vs Godzilla? Or is a completely different thing?
It's technically a completely different comic run since its an actual five issue story this time as opposed to a series of one-shots but its still also part of the over all crossover efforts of Marvel and Toho. Its just this time is supposed to be essentially the canon one.

If Gerry Duggan repeats to everyone multiple times over that “Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe” takes place in the main Marvel Universe/Universe 616, I believe him.

Why is Captain America’s shield (the non-Uru version) accepted as 1-A again? It blocking attacks from Odinforce Thor while only being dented is a huge anti-feat, right?

Odinforce Thor is 1-A, how is that an antifeat
Because the shield isn’t backed up by some higher energy system. It’s just a superduper strong metal which can absorb kinetic energy. Either it contradicts Thor’s 1-A rating or it isn’t 1-A.

It tanks stuff like this literally all the time. I think one of the best examples was Cap using it to survive a blast from a pissed off Celestial.

You have under 200 messages and even fewer likes, please do not tell me and every other marvel supporter how the tiering system works
I appreciate the thought, but just read the FAQ. A metaphysical energy system is basically required for something like that. I’ll go and make a Q&A thread about this because it doesn’t really make that much sense, hopefully some staff can clear it up.

That kind of feats doesn't always need a "metaphysical energy system" to work. It is more like that shield is as durable as the writers need it to be, and just by reading the Cap's profile, it is pretty clear that the feats of his shield are pretty consistent with each other, and that's all that should matter, tbh…

Are those gonna be separated into different keys since he gets completely different powers in each one? EG: Power Cosmic Goji, Symbiote Suit Goji, Necrosword Goji, those guys?
I think Necrosword has to be omitted since unlike the others its extremely separate

I'm not gonna have those because they're only in one issue. Just the P&A he demonstrates in base in those one-shots

pretty sure that's only for specific characters though..not transformations
