This will be my experimental attempt at a tournament.

The premise is that I have somewhat randomly chosen 10 potential match ideas for this tournament:

  1. Chess match.
  2. Prepare the best dish.
  3. Soccer match.
  4. Paint the most realistic picture.
  5. UFC match.
  6. Table tennis match.
  7. Poker match.
  8. Race to climb Mt. Everest.
  9. Race to reach 100,000 subscribers on YouTube.
  10. Convince your opponent to forfeit.

When this tournament is filled, I will put all of them into a wheel and spin it. Whatever it lands on will be the theme of the first round of the tournament. After each round, I will spin the wheel again for the next theme. This way, each round will be different.

Attack potency, speed, lifting strength, and striking strength will be equalized for this tournament and all powers will be restricted with few exceptions. Exceptions being things related to perception (enhanced senses, extrasensory perception, etc), skill (analytical prediction, information analysis, etc), and intelligence.

In addition to the above, I will not allow characters with Nigh-Omniscience/Omniscience, extreme levels of cosmic awareness, or really any ability/trait I deem to be excessive for this tournament.

I will do 16 characters. They can be any tier. It won't really matter for this tournament.

When each round idea is chosen, I will elaborate on the specific conditions present for the matches.

This might just be the hardest tournament for a character to win!

This dude is based off a dude whose entire channel is based on random tidbits of knowledge. He should have a decent chance here.

Literally 3 people. Is this even allowed?

I'd prefer the one character, so I'll choose him.

Akame seems like my best bet for these sorts of challenges, I’ll toss her in.
She's in!

She's in!

Alright then, but that's gonna be the last Undertale fc I accept here.

I have updated the OP.

Remember, I am still taking suggestions for the wheel!

spider-man-doctor-octopus.gif

you're not Sakura Izayoi

I do kinda want to have Bernie but beyond having some amount of skill in any non esoteric or super professional thing (As in, the territory of "How to do surgery effectively") he's kinda underkill, but I do have another Bambu related semi-normal dude

Can I put this guy in?

The wheel has spoken...

So, Round 1 of the Random Tournament will be a Race to the Top of Mount Everest.

Conditions:
  • The statistics mentioned above (AP, Dura, Speed, and Lifting Strength) are equalized down to baseline peak human levels. This notably does not include your stamina.
  • All characters will be given the bare minimum equipment and supplies needed to climb the mountain:
    • Ice pick.
    • Layered jacket.
    • Sleeping bag.
    • 30,000 calories worth of densely packed food.
  • You will start at Nepal south side, one of the Everest base camps. It is located 5,364m above sea level. For comparison, the tip of Everest is at 8,848.86 m. So you've got more than 3 kilometers to go.
  • This is a journey that usually takes even the most professional climbers multiple days to multiple weeks to complete. Your characters will have as much time as they need, but whoever reaches the top wins. If your character would rather not take on this task, they can also forfeit the match. Be honest about that.
  • You are given no outside help or preparation. Your characters are suddenly teleported to the base, where they are told that they will be granted anything they desire if they reach the top of Everest before the other. However, they are not permitted to directly interfere with the other's advancement.
More than anything, this will be a test of your character's willpower, stamina, endurance, and inherent physical ability separate from their statistics.

I will go and create the tournament bracket now.

I’m assuming standard equipment is added onto the given equipment, yes?

Sure, you can have your equipment. It won't have any of its magical or otherwise supernatural properties though. So it might actually be a detriment for characters to carry more things. As said, they are limited to baseline peak human lifting strength (227 kilograms).
