Yeah. Revisin' Ecco the Dolphin, having been inspired because I was playing the Dreamcast reboot, Defender of the Future. I was planning to make a profile for that one but I decided against it, game was kind of frustrating and the profile would be really lame too, given he basically scales to none of the actually cool feats in the game. So I'm just doing this one, if you're curious he's like 9-B/9-A based on interpretation, High 8-C with power-ups.

Anyways, this profile is one I actually reworked a long while ago, back in 2020, in my first few weeks on the site. I actually never made a CRT for that, I just kinda edited it without consulting anyone and nobody bothered to revert the edits. I think it was somewhat of an improvement and I did have approved calcs, but it's still very funny that I'd do that, in retrospect. It's been a while since then and now I actually am making a proper thread because there's lots to be desired about what I left the page looking like. Here's the revised profile. This is the calc blog, approved ofc, lots of new stuff.

Changes:
  • AP-wise, while the calc changes 9-A stays 9-A but the 8-C rating (whose original feat is actually not valid) get upgraded to 8-B, possibly Low 7-C. Seems kinda high for the dolphin game but the Vortex Queen (whose profile i will revise but won't require massive overhauls outside of stats) has some surprisingly legit feats. The main concern is if Ecco scales to the tier 7 one, because she's mentioned to have been weak from feeding in the first game, and she is possibly recovering from that beatdown in the second. It's worth mentioning she does have an ulterior form that's just straight-up invincible to Ecco's attacks, but it doesn't make much sense for that to be something she used to survive the Low 7-C thing given it doesn't seem like a fully voluntary thing? I dunno, the games don't explain much so I'd play it safe and keep the 8-B rating as a lowball.
  • Speed stays Supersonic+ with new calcs.
  • LS is upgraded to Class K because I figured out how to calc the feat that stumped me back then.
  • Ecco gains the Bottlenose Dolphin P&A I recently added to the page.
  • Acrobatics & Combat Mastery: Self-explanatory, with the little issue that the latter is sort of a loose way to reword "martial arts"- Ecco basically just rams into enemies, but he is very good at it, so I decided to reword the power.
  • Information Analysis for just how good his Sonar is.
  • Animal Manipulation for being capable of stunning specifically sharks and summoning pterosaurs.
  • Telepathy via being capable of showing people cutscenes with his sound manip.
  • A few resistances: Poison via tanking different kinds (If it was just one I'd just interpret it as not being very strong, but there's like three species of jellyfish and two more sources, so I think it's fine to say he can tank it a bit. Temperature, both low and high, electricity (again you could assume the attacks are weak but it's multiple sources, some of which you could semi-reliably assume to be very lethal like the sci-fi defense mechanisms) and paralysis)
  • Power bestowal and space-flight for helping his pack fly back home from space.

HOLY W bro, you always know the good games man

They're pretty cool, definitely ball-busters but they're really unique.
Yeah I never actually beat the first one but I enjoyed it, that aside the new additions look fine. The low 7-C given whats there should work as a possibly if you did want to include it

Yeah, I only beat a fan-made PC port that added an easy mode and even then it was kind of a pain. But yeah thanks. Yeah Low 7-C is an "at most" thing. I'll have to wrangle the Vortex Queen's stats because they're gonna look kinda awkward, probably like "Low 7-C, possibly 8-B when weakened" for dura, I dunno.

Aren't we only supposed to do 2 or 3 calculations per blog nowadays? I had a friend on here who put more than that in one and a CGM told him to put them in separate blogs.
I thought the rule was don't put multiple calcs for different series in the same blog?

I wouldn't know, is that a new rule? I haven't been too on the forums recently, but I don't know of anything but that. This is my guess but that CGM may have asked that because the blog was too long and an ordeal to evaluate, which I think might be fair, and honestly a good idea for people to try and get their calcs evaluated.

I remember playing Ecco on a Genesis emulator i had, i loved this game so much, the soundtrack was absolutely phenomenal

I agree with everything, although, you forgot to add the "possibly Small Town level+" on the striking strength and durability sections of your sandbox

Eveyrhting looks perfect, but I can't avoid complaining about resistance to poison and electricity, because it seems to me that he still takes damage from them.

He does, but it's fairly minimal damage from sources that should reasonably do more, especially electricity
