Since Visions of Mana is dropping in about a month I wanted to create this.

Discuss anything about the Mana Series!

I'll be jumping into the Mana series with Visions. Been keeping an eye on it since all the way from Secret of Mana but never got around playing the games.

Absolutely love the music and the fairy tale aesthetic.

dog i didnt expect anybody to be here

the mana series is great, light heartedness is the main selling point of the series for me alongside the general goofiness of the characters

Being lighthearted can be amazing, sometimes a fun adventure in a charming world is the perfect journey.

Did you play Trials of Mana? How was it? I had my eyes on it, but didn't get around to play it.
both the og and the remake are fun

the remake has extra content like new classes so i would say that one would be the better version. However the voice acting is very meh. The voice actors arent bad but the lines are very much corny (especially Charlotte’s dialogue).

The story isnt the strongest either in my personal opinion but its nice

The gameplay is enough to make me overlook most of its faults so like i said previously its a fun game.

To be fair it is a SNES game, so cheesy dialogue and plot are kind to be expected. The corn was full force during that era, lol.

Did you manage to play Visions? I've looking for it for months but it just doesn't show up where I live. I mean, I could just buy digital, but my old fashioned caboose likes to collect physical games.

Yeah true

I bought it but it's been on my back burner due to other stuff. I got through quarter of the game but I might need to replay it for a proper experience

How was it so far? From what I've seen it was pretty good and the setting had that fairytale look I really liked. The plot seemed to be the usual?

Say, if we're ever to work on the profiles I think a good way to start is with the games individually. I know the setting is shared, but covering the overreaching stuff could be too much for a beginning and would never get done. At least that's how I made it with Final Fantasy Tactics and the Ivalice Alliance which has several other titles.

i have some profiles but i havent finished them. Doing the games piece by piece is the way to go

Yeah. I mean, I recall seeing in another wiki some time ago pages for the Mana series and there was a lot of cross scaling and references to the overall series and all.

Apparently there's even time travel and something in one of the games.

the majority of cross scaling comes from the mana sword since its in every game. I dont remember any time travel within the games but there is a confirmed multiverse and one of the major antagonist is capable of travelling between them

I think it was Heroes of Mana the game that used it as a big twist at the end. That antagonist is Anise?

yeah any version we see of Anise in the mana series is either a different version of her (since she literally exist within of all creatures hearts across the multiverse) or a version that travelled to that world (like in trials of mana remake)

What is Anise exactly? Is it ever explained? I always thought she was a witch of sorts, but the more is known about her the more she seems to be too powerful to be just that.

shes a tree maiden turned witch. She was supposed to become the Mana Tree/Goddess but due to her being corrupted by the Echoes of Mavolia she was rejected. Then she cursed mana itself so that wherever it exists, she will exists + weakening its influence as well. Shes essentially the big bad of the entire series

Ah, crap. In which game did that happen?
