Discussion thread for the Beetlejuice franchise.

It looks like BJ is gonna get a shit more hax, especially the phone BFR/bio manip at the end of the trailer. Lydia and him might also be teaming up to save her daughter too?

Okay, so some feats from Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.

Be warned. It’s intense.

Even unfreed, Beetlejuice is able to cause Lydia to hallucinate him from a distance. Beetlejuice 1 is anything to go by given the different flows of time, the Netherworld is it’s own separate universe giving him Interdimensional range with this.

Unfreed, he causes Lydia’s phone to be swarmed with endless Beetlejuice pop-up ads.

He frequently winks at and talks to the audience.

He frequently plays with his voice, becoming a random Spanish narrator, playing Richard Marx’s Right Here Waiting through his mouth, creating an audible BEEP to replace his “what the f***”, and playing disco music when mentioning the “Soul Train”.

Note: Beetlejuice’s powers are unlimited in the Netherworld. His Freed Key should be combined with “In The Netherworld”.

Definitive proof that ghosts don’t age after their deaths. Astrid’s boyfriend is actually a ghost that died around 30 years ago and still retains a teenage appearance.

Beetlejuice can just straight up make people pregnant and force them to have a baby Beetlejuice.

Beetlejuice has crazy toon force teleportation, able to teleport to the other side of a door before anyone notices.

He can light his finger on fire and use it to explode a wall using only a chalk fuse, making it function like a real one.

Somehow, he knows what happened to Astrid and her new boyfriend despite not being anywhere near their house.

He can “spill his guts”, making lots of gross gunk flow out of his body and be completely unfazed.

He sews Lydia’s lips together the moment she tries to say his name.

Beetlejuice can seal people inside their cellphones and cause their bodies to stretch and deform inside them. Their hands force their phones to turn towards them before this happens, likely a possession move.

He can make contracts that force people to abide by the terms of the deal. When Lydia set the conditions of her deal, being that his name cannot be said, even Astrid, who had no involvement in the deal, was unable to say his name.

Beetlejuice frequently summons pretty much anything he needs like a megaphone, a contract, and even a truth serum. A VERY effective one at that.

When posing as a ticket collector, he stamps Jeremy’s passport, marking it “shit out of luck” and sends him directly to The Fires of Damnation.

He gives Lydia a Beetlejuice boxing glove that gives her his strength, sending a man flying across a room.

He can change his eyes to look like they’re looking directly at the sun.

He changes a guy’s shirt, change’s Lydia’s dress, and frequently changes his own outfit.

Beetlejuice can simply say “freeze” and paralyzes not just Willem Defoe’s character but the entire Ghoul Squad he brings to apprehend him.

Beetlejuice summons a band and performs McArthur Park, forcing everyone, even Lydia, Delia, and Astrid to join in, interrupting their attempts to banish him.

Beetlejuice creates a miniature raincloud to rain indoors.

He changes into a toreador costume and bull-fights a Sandworm, redirecting it’s attacks towards his ex and Lydia’s fiancée.

He doesn’t need his name to be said three times to know when someone is trying to summon him and can simply teleport to their side.

When Lydia banishes Beetlejuice, he’s inflated like a balloon and bursts into pieces. However, he doesn’t seem to be concerned by this, is still alive, and poofs back to the Netherworld. We see he’s unharmed later when he’s messing with Lydia.

He gave Lydia a nightmare in which Astrid is pregnant with Baby Beetlejuice and another layered nightmare where she wakes up in a cold sweat next to him.

Lots more feats that I can’t remember.

I'll assess this when I get back.

As promise..! Let's see...

1. Illusion Creation
2. Probably Hacking since this is akin to computer viruses and such.
3. Obvious Fourth-Wall Breaking
4. Sound Manipulation, some parts being more clear.
5. Okay, but I don't see a "In The Netherworld" key anywhere.
6. Better evidence of Immortality Type 1; dubious on any resistance to Age Manipulation
7. Might have to go with Biological Manipulation because I don't know what the f*** else to call that.
8. Self-explanatory
9. Fire and Explosive Manipulation
10. Gonna have to put that as a possibility under Clairvoyance, which is an ESP thing.
11. Biological Manipulation, with a side order of Low-Mid Regen.
12. Sealing with a side order of Thread Manipulation
13. Better evidence of Sealing and yes, I would say Possession due to poltergeist shenanigans.
14. Gonna have to say limited Curse Manipulation since this is akin to signing a deal with the devil. Someone more well-verse in P&As might explain it better.
15. Self-explanatory, but could also qualify for Dimensional Storage
16. BFR. Might be more depending on what the Fires of Damnation are supposed to be.
17. Statistics Amplification, maybe Power Bestowal depending on how you wanna interpret that.
18. More Biological Manipulation
19. Cloth Manipulation, easy
20. Self-explanatory
21. Summoning. Could also be Broadway Force depending on the methodology.
22. Weather Manipulation
23. Would probably just be added to his Intelligence category for experience in bullfighting. Bullfighters don't exactly supernaturally manipulate animals.
24. Clairvoyance, and maybe you can get a resistance or two out of him deliberately ignoring summoning conditions.
25. Easily High-Mid Regeneration.
26. Dream Manipulation. Sadly wouldn't qualify for layered Dream Manipulation since the wiki's conditions for layered hax are pretty fussy. I would know, I tried suggesting three layers of Madness Manipulation for Spongebob for the same reasonings provided here and that got rejected.

So yeah, that's pretty much the gist of what I can tell you. I recommend giving the film another once-over to get scans.

Cartoon BJ is finally finished after months of research. Now the next thing to do is search for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice scans.

CRT is up.
