As the title says, I believe LMK's mind manipulation capabilities to bound to a person's AP (only applies to certain characters tho)
Wukong gained his lost powers back via meditation. And meditation enhances the mind, protecting it from all types of abilities that influence/targets it. Now how to justify this? MK who has the same powers as Wukong, capable of removing illusions that alters his perception by enhancing his mind. Wukong himself also have the same immunity to illusions. But the main reason I think mind AP applies to both, is their interaction with Lady Bone Demon. She was able to alter the mind and perception of DBK. And despite MK who can remove illusions, he is vulnerable to LBD's mind manipulation. The same thing happened to Sun Wukong. However when Wukong was going full power, LBD couldn't effect him with illusions. As to further explanation why him going Full power enhances his mind, his eyes were shown to be glowing when going full power on Monkey MK. Which is the same effect MK has when removing his illusions
Before you ask me question, doesn't Sun Wukong automatically in his full power anywhere he goes? No, he has been stated to consistently holding back in the entire series and here another reference. The only times he never was against LBD and Monkey MK. This revision also applies to LBD's possession abilities. It took only one of LBD's essence to control Macaque, while it took a massive chunk of LBD's essence to possess Wukong, another reference to this ("you wouldn't be using her ounce of your power to keep him contained"). Keyword: Power. And the reason Wukong managed to get himself out of the possession was due just giving himself more power from the staff. And lastly, it took only one eye to put Wukong under illusion by the 1000 Eye Demon compared to Monkey MK that took dozens of eye to keep him under illusion as Monkey Mk is more powerful than a holding back Wukong, and here another reference
So in conclusion, your mind AP needs to above MK and Wukong in order to effect them with mind manipulation, it cannot be a mere layers of mind manipulation. Also applies to both Lady Bone Demon and 1000 Eye Demon's mind manipulation capabilities (so layered resists to mind manipulation won't work, only if your mind resist AP is higher). I believe another verse also follows the Mind Ap system such as Mob Psycho 100, God of Highschool and Dragon Ball as an example (which these 4 characters in LMK should also follow)
