Question about calculating the distance of a cloud

im currently finding a way on how to calculate the distance of a cloud by looking at it, the closet formula I can find is d ~= 1.22 * sqrt(h), although this formula is to find the distance of the cloud at the horizon, what formulas can be used to measure the distance of the clouds that are not at horizon?

If there isn’t something you can use as a reference at the height of the clouds (like a passing airplane), I believe your best bet is just determining the type of the cloud and using its average height as described here:

I found out that pixel scalling works but thanks for answer!
