(Gotten from the comments section of the Sonic the Hedgehog profile) So, since I got from a reliable source that Sonic Rivals is confirmed as canon, I have a bit more bang for ya bucks me hardy's (I know, pirate talk am I right?). Introducing the Sonic Rivals and Rivals 2 instruction booklets!
Sonic is considered the fastest being in his universe and is "unrivaled" in speed. That goes for Shadow too, who although he can move at speeds "close" to Sonic's, Sonic's speed is still faster than his own. So basically, Sonic is the speed, and Shadow is the hax. Go figure.
Knuckles fists are "rock hard" also has the ability to cause tremors so strong that no matter the distance from his opponent, he's capable of tripping them so long as they are on the ground.
The Master Emerald also has some interesting little tidbits. The Master Emerald exists in all the "time-space continuum" so if it's gone from the past, present, or future, it will no longer exist in any of those timelines, so taking the "existence" of one master emerald means taking the existence of "all of them". Stated by Dr. Eggman Nega himself.
And while, on the subject, major hax, a camera that turns ANYTHING IT POINTS AT into a card. Eggman was going to position a ship to turn the entire earth into a card.
Sonic and Tails defeat the Ifrit, canon to the game it is Sonic who defeats Ifrit while Tails is the one who is under Ifrit's control. And alternatively, Sonic gains back control from Ifrit if he's placed under mind control and helps Tails to defeat it still. Ifrit is capable of (just as Iblis is) drowning the world in entire volumes of fire. Only this time, multiple parties state at its capacity to destroy the world. This also goes for Knuckles and Rouge, Shadow and Metal Sonic, Silver and Espio... who if they are mind controlled, have to defeat the Ifrit, chalk another one up for the win column, and in their base forms no less... You get the picture.
Ifrit is capable of destroying the world as stated by witness accounts as well as well as log entries from Gerald Robotniks journals.

Sonic also helps in defeating Dark Gaia with Light Gaia. Dark Gaia even before it matured was a Planet Level threat before becoming Perfect Dark Gaia which shows far stronger abilities. Don't forget that Light Gaia is Birth while Dark Gaia is Death, and they are both "concepts" of Existence.
