Since I'm unable to edit profiles (dunno why), I made a blog . I have added some stuff to his profile and would like to know if it's possible to implement them.

Thank you

Well the first and foremost rule of the note is

  • The Human whose name is written in this note shall die.
That doesn't include any limitations where this human may be located. I'm going through the whole rules of it and there's nothing mentioning the humans location.

Also Shinigamis can kill humans and they exist in another realm. I don't think the Human Realm is limited only in Earth. By the time the manga events occur, humans have landed on the Moon, it would be nonsensical to say they have stepped outside their Realm of existence.

That sounds NLF though. So, if a human crosses to another plane of existence while the Death Note is being used to kill him, it'll cross the borders of existence?

That's a lot of guesses.

Humans in Death Note can't travel to the other Realms. Only Shinigamis can do that (Shinigami Realm->Human Realm and vice-versa, not other Realms)

Why wouldn't the DN be able to kill someone up in the ISS? If Light could kill criminals all across the globe (Japan to USA is ~1000km), he should be able to kill someone in the ISS (400 km altitude).

It doesn't matter where a person is, they will be killed if their name is written in the Death Note. Now humans cannot cross dimension in the Death Note verse so not much can be said there. I advocate for "at least universal" since anything else is truly unknown because of how the Death Note verse is set up.

We don't even have any proof that it is universal, so keeping it as unknown is better....
The rules of the Death Note are more than enough proof. All you need is to know the face, the name, and then write down the name. It doesn't make sense for the Death Note to have limitations based on something like distance since it's something supernatural.

Here is a full set of rules and no where does it mention that the location of the person who's name is being written has any effect.

It's a LOT of rules so I understand if you don't want to read all of them but the first few are good enough.

I think an At least Planetary, possibly Universal would make sense.

Edit: Also in the Standard Equipment section someone should add his watch. He used that to hide pieces of DN.

I agree with Gemmysaur. We cannot use speculation, when all we have proof of is global range.

As for your editing, to prevent the widespread ongoing vandalism that used to happen continuously, you have to wait 4 days after creating an account to be able to do so.

@Ant

Staying on the safe side sounds fair enough. Do you think the other modifications are okay? If so, I could edit them in.

Seems like I can't edit the profile either.

I only browsed through the blog, but thought that it mostly seemed okay.

Done. I also added the Psychopath, Sociopath and Detective categories. If those aren't okay, feel free to remove them. Thank you.

I do not think that he is a psychopath, or is technically a detective.

Psychopathy is something that somebody is born with, whereas sociopathy is something that they develop.

Thanks for accepting the proposed changes and for your work. If you feel we are done here, feel free to lock(?) this thread.
