I think it's because that he's above Mxyzptlk's dimension and exists outside of the 5D bleed, making him 6D.

True Darkseid got permanently killed by Superman, so Thanos should definitely be able to hurt Darkseid with anything he throws at him that affects him, but I should see other people's points to this.

You do know his key says "Likely Low 1-C, possibly Higher" right? It's likely much higher but we don't know how high exactly.

one thanos is physically 3D only has 6D powers look for example at the doctor with the time key he is physically 3D and has with this h1C powers.
If I remember correctly, eternity is not the size of 6D, it is always re-represented as the universe (space-time) if we speak in size, so thanos lacks sealing power to beat him.

yes, but that was also a key point in his defeat since he lost the IG, if I know that eternity is the universe but you can embody a one universe and have power up to 1B.

Thanks can learn about Darkseid's abilities with precog and cosmic awareness. They can't really do much to each other since Darkseid is too big to affect and thanos resists the abilities of several abstracts.
Darkseid could control thanos with conceptual mind manipulation, however it's not specified how he captures the black racer.
