Courier Ability and Weapons Additions; Possible AP Upgrade

Hello. I was through the Couriers profile and noticed he had a lot of stuff missing. Here is the stuff taken from the wiki. Also there's a possible AP upgrade here too if you guys can agree on it. Now onto the revisions.

Abilities Additio
Energy Manipulation and Energy Projection (Uses a plethora of laser weapons and Alien weapons)

Plasma Manipulation (Uses Plasma Weapons)

ChallengedImmortality (Type 2; Survived being shot in the head, can survive with multiple broken bones and multiple brutal beatings)

Immense Pain Tolerance (Can walk around with multiple broken bones with no signs of pain whatsoever and perform most actions unhindered)

Limited Radiation Manipulation (Some of his weapons emit radiation)

ChallengedHoly Manipulation (Can use Holy Frag Grenades)

Statistics Amplification (Sneak attacks and critical attacks do much more damage than normal. Some of his items can increase his strength, speed, perception, and durability)

Healing (His healing can restore much of his health and repair broken bones)

Fear Manipulation (With the terrifying presence perk he can easily intimidate and terrify many enemies in the wasteland easily making them flee, can make heavily armed Brotherhood Of Steel members wimper in fear just by talking to them)

Underwater Breathing (Has a rebreather and can use it perfectly)

Explosion Manipulation (Has multiple explosions)

Light Manipulation (Has flashbangs, his ppipboy can act as a flashlight)

Fire Manipulation (Can use incendiary bullets and weaponry)

Electricity Manipulation (Has multiple electrical weapons)

Enhanced Senses (Has extreme perception being see if bullets are in a gun and being able to spot enemies from far away, can detect invisible enemies in VATS)

His stealth should be elaborated on a bit, he can sneak around relatively close to Deathclaws without being spotted who are known for their great senses, stealth boys amplify this to tremendous means.

Information Analysis (Can analyze enemies including their defense and resistances)

Can use a special attack to stun and knock down enemies

Animal Manipulation (Can pacify all types of animals and can even call them to his aid)

Durability Negation (His shotguns can ignore a bit of an opponents armor and durability)

Paralysis Inducement (Can paralyze a target for 30 seconds with an unarmed VATS attack)

Heat Manipulation via Laser Detonator

Minor Purification (Can purify irradiated water by drinking it)

Resistances
Resists all the weapons he has

Certain armors of his resist certain weapons better than others

AP Upgrade
I propose we make His Base AP 9-A as he is able to harm and kill deathclaws with boxing tape on and various melee weapons with relative ease

Durability
You can get a durability implant and increase your durability by putting iron in your cells

Everything looks good to me except for immortality and holy manipulation.

The bullet to the head was supposed to be fatal, but he survived through sheer luck rather than a special ability. Plus, they're real life instances of people surviving bullet wounds to the head, it all really depends on a number of factors. Those other two things are tenacity feats rather than type 2.

Pretty sure that just having holy in your name isn't enough to give you holy manipulation. Iiirc all the grenade does is just blow up with a mini-nuke effect and leave radiation.

Also may want to have more discussion on the base AP upgrade.

Everything else looks good.

Immortality type 2 might still work since having bones crippled (aka broken) can be fatal. And they can survive their entire body including their skull being crippled and still walk around.

This also applies to Lone Wanderer since he shares most of the same weapons and abilities with the exception of Underwater Breathing and Holy Manipulation.

He also should revise MHS+ to Sub Rela attack speed via the Arcemedies giant laser that comes from space

I'm not for this in any form. Attacking Deathclaws in melee combat without power armor is a pure gameplay mechanic. With even things like Super Mutants being casually killed by one in combat, let alone a human.
 
Treating the main character with the same issues as others isn't a good idea. A regular character from fallout nowhere near stacks to the main characters you play as. A normal waste lander can't handle a death claw yea. But wanderer and courier are no normal people. It's clear that the Lone wanderer and Courier are vastly superior. Courier literally can go into camps and murder the entire group of legions all on his own. Which is not game play mechanics. It's supported even by dialogue.
 
You can do that in game, that doesn't mean you can do that in lore. An explosive collar is enough to kill even a max leveled Courier. I'm fine with saying that with his max gear the PCs are capable of being 9-A or higher, because that's supported by dialogue and weapons progression. But saying that since a naked Lone Wanderer can kill a Deathclaw with a stick means he's 9-A normally is just being untruthful.
 
The powers and stuff I'm fine with. Well besides Holy Manipulation and Immorality.
 
Though I think Butters made a good point about regular humans not being able to survive with most of their bones broken.
 
I feel the "taking damage is game mechanics" and killing characters is game mechanics cause another Wastelanders can't do it is very hard logic to use when Lone Wanderer and Courier overshadow the others so much, they overturn the winners of war.

This logic doesn't work. Because that's just the fact weapons of any kind can hurt each other. We can't just look at it like these are regular explosives and regular guns. We see guns that attack molecules, shoot at light speed, ignite on fire, and many other stuff, Tech is advanced enough to create weapons that likely surpass our own. A simple sword can still damage someone like a dragon Borne on his universe. As does an arrow. It's not a game mechanic. It's just that's the weapons they use. But their weapons are clearly more advanced than our own. Even based car onto the future

We can since the fest majority of weaponry is based on their real life counterparts and use real life ammo. The only way this works is if you assume every shiv and .22 pistol is multiple magnitude better with no evidence backing it. Earlier games even mention joules.

Actually according to this wiki every instance where that happens without story backing (like with the Ebony Warrior), its a gameplay induced outlier.
 
It doesn't automatically make this ammo that strong, it's feats can destroy vertibirds and blow off mutant and people's heads into bits. Which is a very common feat that basically any gun can pull off. These guns are much stronger than any normal one. A real life handgun could entirely explode a persons head and skull to bits. Or shoot off entire limbs and mutilate their bodies. They are strong and could leave holes in people's heads. But nothing to the degree of literally causes their limbs to explode into bits or come off as a hole.
 
The vertibirds can withstand high amounts of sustained fire and to counter them the Lyons BoS went out of their way to get the technology to produce Tesla Cannons. Indicating they had a lack of viable anti-air weapons once Prime was taken out.

As for gore kills they imply 9-B stuff for melee weapons or strong guns, but low caliber ammunition don't have cut scene or lore evidence that suggest they can blow up body parts.
 
The Veritbirds also isn't a good argument as these aren't real life machines we can scale to some real life version of it. As well, guns can still shoot them down. It takes longer than a canon Sure. But that doesn't mean they suddenly can't do it. They created the Tesla cannon to get an advantage to take them down easier, not because it was impossible for a normal gun to do so. guns are still able to pull this feat off.
 
I would say it's impossible (or unresonable) for the same reason why IRL militaries don't advise ground soldiers to just shoot a helicopter with assualt rifles. It just doesn't do much, even if sustained fire could disable it.

Also taking down a vehicle by causing it's nuclear engine to lit on fire and explode is vastly different from blowing it up in a single shot. It's perfectly possible for a 9-C or 9-B weapon to replicate it with enough time. This also doesn't apply to the PC's physicals and doesn't apply to their striking strength.

I'm just not for any AP upgrade. It's just ultimately based on gameplay mechanics that the lore directly contradicts.

You even bringing up armor in the previous thread only being able to tank 2,500 joules is extremely inconsistent and contradicted heavily with standard feats. We need to see what feats and lore are actually reasonable to go off of. That kind of lore isn't usable. If the Courier can reasonably kill deathclaws, which they can, there are quests and challenges about it, and dialogue that confirms they can. Even killing the alpha and mother. It stands that they should scale. Too many quests contradict poor lore and wording.

What? Lore is literally the canon of the verse and what we use to determine everything. You can in no way dismiss it. Gameplay contradicts the lore, not the other way around.

What standard feats? I listed over six examples of intermediate caliber guns, explosives like mines, and large falls completely wrecking PA. The statement is actually consistent with the lore. Gameplay is what contradictory.

We have no canon idea how they do so. Its just as likely they used a gauss rifle from half a mile out, high tier explosives, or aimed at critical weakness spots to win. Its so vague scaling it directly to physical AP is backed by nothing but one possible gameplay route.
 
I mean, there is no new points. It's just a disagreement about the proposed AP upgrade. If you meant the PA stuff then my comment was here
 
They replaced his brain with a robotic equivalent. Same with his spine and heart to my memory. That's just advanced cybernetics rather than a immortality feat.
