Oh boy. Round 9 of these fights. Sans vs The Ninja from The Messenger. I liked this guy and he felt under used. So why not use him. I know he has some range stuff. Haven't been on his page in forever though.

Anyways. Just like before

Speed equal

SBA from there

Sans:

Ninja Messenger: 7

Inconclusive/Draw:

This almost feels like Sans fighting Frisk/Chara again, but with one key difference.

Type 8 immortality on top of Top 4. How does Sans get past this?

Quarble. Killing him. The immortality also doesn't work after 10 seconds. As well, the merchant at the shop has to let Quarble know that the messenger died. Else the die permanently. Aka. He can only reset in 10 seconds else it's game over

I totally forgot he had this though. Oof

Honestly, the Shopkeeper not knowing isn't something that would happen likely as it never does except when The Ninja took over. So that's more his fault. So not really notable in this fight.

So Sans would need to figure out to kill quarble right after killing messenger. If he can kill messenger.

Well, disregarding the Shopkeeper and Quarble for now, I see nothing that prevents Sans from simply overwhelming him, given their similar range.

And should he accept THE DEAL, that just makes it easier for Sans.

only problem is, Sans doesn't know about Quarble and would reasonably have no way to find him

i'm going to vote for the Messenger for the same reason Frisk won, slowly adapting to the patterns and wearing Sans out.

as I said, this matchup is almost identical to Sans v Frisk/Chara but with a third party controlling the resets.

The main problem with Sans winning is that even if his ability to sense the timelines jumping allowed him to pinpoint the Shopkeeper and Quarble's locations, he'd still need to escape from the Messenger, who can still just travel through time regardless.

No matter what, it's Sans against time travel and reset, the same reason he lost to Frisk.

It's not killing Quarble that's difficult. It's escaping the Messenger and yet another time reset.

Not really? He would need to simply tag him with soul attacks before he stops and reveres time. Others can effect Quarble shown when he grows scared of a creature and teleports away. Albeit he would have to still catch him. And Quarble has teleportation which he does use to dodge stuff

Well, I guess this should have been asked sooner. Where are Quarble and the Shopkeeper? Are they in a different location entirely or do they follow the Messenger?

Quarable teleports to the messengers location when he dies. And then he teleports back down to hell I suppose? Or wherever demons go.

He will leave the field of battle of he sees danger. Like he got terrified of a giant worm and just warps away. Even when the messengers dies. He reverses time and then bailed

Okay, that changes things drastically. I was under the assumption he resets time from where ever he lives.

Oh. And the shopkeeper is definitely not anywhere sans can be. They live outside of time and space itself. So Quarble is the only option. In case you were gonna ask.

Does he stop time the instant he arrives or does he take a moment? Because if he needs to wait a moment, then Sans has the opportunity to distract him long enough.

this would likely still take a few resets before he comes up with this idea, but if he has the time to slip in and distract before time stop happens, then I could see Sans winning

It takes a moment from what I recall. However, Quarble would remember these resets too. And i definitely don't see himself just letting himself get hit. (Not saying sans can't hit him. Just saying Quarble wouldn't be on guard). So also take that in mind.

Of course. That's to be expected. I'm not saying Sans has to be able to kill Quarble (as he's not the focus of this). The bare minimum is he has to be able to distract Quarble for 10 seconds. I was just asking because if he gave Sans no chance to intervene before time stop, then obviously Sans can't win. But since there supposedly is a moment to breath, Sans should be able to slip in, even if he misses, and distract the dude or get him to leave (alah, this isn't worth fighting over). Unless Quarble can time stop in the middle of battle, in which case, victory for Sans is mute.

Oh. Yes. If sans tries to attack him. He could still stop and reverse time. Nothing stops him from doing that. And it's his job. He isn't gonna abandon Ninja. Even when facing something that left him terrified, he always had his back.
