King Shadow was perplexed about the blue hedgehog that was standing before him, not the aging, weak, current version of his rival. But the young teen who gave him trouble so many times years ago.

The young hedgehog was giving him a disappointed stare, mixed with anger at the sight of what he became in the future.

"So, shall we go...faker?

"Hmpf, yeah, let's do it to it as you would say"

It's Archie Sonic from the Prime Zone versus Shadow from the Light Zone or King Shadow as he's usually called.

Wins via Death or KO.

Stronger King Sonic:

"Stronger" Prime Shadow:

Incoclusive:

(BTW if the story is innacurate is that I didn't bother enough to check nor did I care)

This is badically Prime Sonic vs Prime Shadow except Shadow is given 25 extra years of experience with no downsides. It would be a repeat of the issue 167 fight only this time it might take two pages.

I'm probably wrong about it but wasn't King Sonic weakened from old age, that's the explanation it was given for him losing so badly.

Yes, the issue 167 fight was a stomp because Sonic got old and Shadow didn't, but since Shadow doesn't age he's basically Prime Shadow but with a lot more expirience.

King Shadow personality and history is completely diferent from Prime Shadow thanks to Sonic's time travel.

I vote for Sonic due to the fate hax as well the speed advantage

Sonic's speed advantage over Shadow is negligable, it shouldn't matter any more than it does against Prime Shadow. The only major personality difference between King Shaodw and Prime Shadow is king is more ruthless, which would futher work in his favor against Sonic along with his over two decades of extra experience.

King Shadow is a ruthless ruler that worships Maria and he's evil, Prime Shadow is nothing like him, Mobius 25 years later is completely diferent timeline that is separeted from the main canon since after Knuckles became Chaos Knuckles, his experience comes from rulling a country not fighting, he was caught of guard and frozen in time by Lara-su who never used Chaos Control before. A prime Sonic used to fighting Shadow and with fate hax can beat him

King Shadow's time-line is different from the Prime one in that Sonic dies in issue 50. Shadow defeated Eggman and took over the world in the span of a year, and we're told there was constant fighting during the 25 year skip in his time.

The Sonic he fights in issue 167 is from an unaltered possible future of the Prime time line, meaning he would also have "fate hax" and he still loses. A more ruthless and experienced Shadow is absolutely beating Prime Sonic.

It's a possible future, not the main one, the fact that didn't happen to the prime Sonic proves his fate hax, or else the same would have happened if they are so equal to each other

It may or may not be what actually happens in the future (the Locke rewrite not withstanding) but for it to be a possible future, the same events have to have happened. And there's evidence they share the same past until at least issue 125 and the Ring aura is introduced in 35. Also, Sonic only dies in the altered time line because future Sonic goes back in time not because he's lacking the ring aura. In fact, it's likely the aura is what kept future Sonic in the altered time line but not through fate hax but rather through the only part of the aura that actually has sound evidence, protecting his humanity/existence. (there's probably an official name but I'm unaware if there is)

If it's a alternate future them it's not the future of the main one, whatever happened to that Sonic doesn't aply to the main Sonic, even if they have a similar past, since that would mean that they lead to the same future, which is false, and King Shadow still got defeated by Lara-su who is below Silver which Sonic already beat before

Silver is also from a possible future, yet he always comes back to the Prime timeline and the altered Light Mobius timeline. Sonic's ring aura isn't something he has because he's the Prime Sonic, it's because he collected a billion power rings. There is 0 reason to assume Light Sonic didn't also do the same since they share the same past until at least issue 125 (it's likely it would have been their canon future if Ian Flynn hadn't retconned certain stories Penders wrote) The Sonic in issues 166 and 167 is the same Sonic from 131 to 144; he's from the unaltered future, the Sonic who dies in issue 50 that created King Shadow's timeline in irrelevant.

That's some terrible ABC logic. Unless you actually believe Lara-su is stronger than Shadow (I'm fairly certain that's considered an outlier/PIS on this site) but even still, when has Sonic beat Silver? Silver is obviously superior to him in 194 and that's the only time they fight (unless I'm forgetting something) are you talking about issue 235? because that's not a fight and doesn't prove Sonic is superior to Silver in any way.

They shared a past, they don't anymore, the fact that future didn't happen for the main timeline proves the fate hax specialy since it was Ian Flynn that brought that idea, King Shadow is also way more arrogant than normal Shadow

Tbh this match never should've happened

@Foney I haven't read this string of comics in a while, so I forgot. Was King Sonic stated to grow weaker than his Prime counterpart?

From what I remember he was, Shadow said that he was past his prime and that he was not a challenge for him anymore.
