It is 1981. Tensions are flaring across the world, as the Cold War intensifies. Hostilities are open between the two superpowers, as it seems like the world is creeping ever closer to nuclear war. In this scenario, Jacket steels himself for the night's task. A weird phone call has instructed him that he must head out and assassinate both the Russian and American leaders at the Russo-American Coalition summit that night. Such an act would doubtlessly spark a nuclear war, which is realized by Ozymandias. Due to his previous plan not working for whatever reason, he must in this timeline take a more direct approach to averting the threat, and sets off to stop the masked killer in a mask of his own. They meet in this area at the dead of night, each catching a mere glimpse of the other before disapearing behind a building. As Ozy realizes that the man he just saw was the one he must stop, and Jacket realizes that the weirdly dressed guy was among those he was instructed to kill, a fight breaks out.

Ozymandias vs Jacket

Speed Unequal

Start out 500m away from one another, without line of sight or an exact bead on the opponent's location.

Jacket is armed with an M16, sniper rifle, and a combat knife. He is not using a flashlight, as he isn't trying to draw attention to himself.

It is during a heavy thunderstorm, and dark out. Flashes of lightning provide most of the illumination that will be present.

Jacket (Hotline Miami): 7 (Jackythejack, CrimsonStarFallen, Abstractions, Sayo Yasuda, Iapitus The Impaler, Edwellken, HeadlessKramerGeoff777)

Ozymandias:

Inconclusive:

ok so

Ozymandias has the skill, AP and somewhat of a speed advantage

considering how his speed feat involves him casually catching bullets, i don't really see Jacket being able to do a whole lot

Actually, they are pretty much equal, since Jacket can melee guys that can dodge automatic sniper rifle shots with ease.

Jacket can just see very far, though operating in dark and dreary conditions is nothing new for him considering what he did during the Hawaiian Conflict. Ozy has better senses, but Jacket is good enough to storm bases and deduce where everyone is well enough to not open a door and instantly get ventilated by machineguns.

He's fodderized drug gang members, though random gangsters don't have Jacket's sort of speed, skill, or lethality. He could have defeated the Comedian if he wanted to, a man extremely proficient in guns, though that battle started at a lower range. Notably, Ozy destroyed one of Comedian's guns by lodging a throwing stiletto into the barrel.

Also worth noting that Ozy did get hurt when he did his bullet catch thing, and was sorta surprised he actually did it. He's more likely to go for dodging Jacket's fire entirely.

True and true

I feel like Ozy would be rather surprised when he is actually more or less matched in a fight by Jacket, which would help him

So...huh, surprisingly even.

How likely is it that this'll revolve into melee combat? Because I can definitely see that happening. I can also see Jacket possibly being able to gun down Ozy though but eh

I would say Jacket usually loses a melee, despite his own feats. If he can keep it at a more comfortable range and wear Ozy down a bit before the distance is closed, his chances get better.

So your question is basically what this hinges on, at least in my eyes.

Huh, well okay. I personally see Jacket being able to gun down Ozy more than I see Ozy being able to exactly close the distance...I think? Maybe I'm underestimating the guy

I'll chalk that up to a vote for Jacket, though let me see if I can grab some scans for Veidt.

Fodderizes some gangsters, some have guns

Dodges the shots of The Comedia

Disables Comedian's gun with a throwing stiletto

He could have won the fight if he really wanted to

I think i'll give this to Jacket in a hard fight.

If he gets in close range, Ozy is going to screw him up thanks to skill and higher AP, but in a ranged fight the story is different. While Ozy may have defeated armed opponents before, even very skilled ones like Comedian, Jacket is much, much better in skills than any of them. And there's also the fact that this fight has them at 500 meters away, which is more distance than any of Ozy's fight against armed opponents. Combined with the fact that Ozy is harmed by bullets, would make this fight pretty close.

Even if Ozy is able to mentaly calculate the fight's outcome, Ozy is a overconfident iirc, so he may not expect Jacket to be a particulary difficult opponent. Also, even in this dark enviroment, both of them have enough experience, skill and senses to fight while it is dark, combined with the sparts from the lightning, it wouldn't make this a very big difference imo.

Jacket is smart to keep his distance, expecially if he has a sniper with him. I think eventually Ozy would be hit with a shot and it would go down hill from there.

So, Jacket with High Dif.

I am really enjoying this match-up and the scene you depicted for it, guns heavily favor Jacket but coupled with the thunderstorm in an area with a lot of cover evens it out for Ozymandias.

I am inclined to vote for Jacket here however, Jacket would like to keep his distance as he does have a sniper rifle available to him and coupled with the fact he should be no slouch with it either makes the outcome of the match favor him should Ozy find himself in the open.

But you may argue that Ozy would kindly wait to ambush his opponent should he know he has ranged equipment, as he is capable of catching a bullet, it still harms him, making him more inclined to stay out of harms way, this, with his more obvious skill advantage in terms of martial arts would make it easier for him to disarm Jacket should it comes to close-quarters, Jacket probably being the first to cave to the other's strategy as Ozy might be more patient with his genius intellect.

I'd say that Ozy catches a bullet or two (literally or not) in an attempt to quickly disarm Jacket with a stiletto, as Jacket will be able to react to him and will be a much better shot and trigger finger than those Ozy has faced before. This immediately puts things in Jacket's favor as Ozy will be injured while Jacket will be armed with a knife and will be ready to strike, making this a waiting game on who strikes first for the other to counter with Ozy on a timer.

Seeing as even with Jacket's immense talent, just because Ozymandias is smarter and has more close-quarters prowess I'm only inclined to put this in his favor 5.5/10 times.

That's my input.

Oh looks like this finished whoops
