It's me again, swerving in for more time in the spotlight Archie revisions.

Time to get into the nitty-gritty of this thread. Archie Sonics (both Pre-Ge and Post-Ge, as well as many other Archie Characters) are severely lacking a Notable Attacks/Techniques section or have a shamefully small one. While this is more focused on Pre-Gen, I aim to fix that down the line.

Keep in mind that these descriptions are subject to change, so we'll be discussing some things to reword or add to this list.

You can't really claim to "control" the planet when you're fighting for it every waking hour! Sure, you beat me fair and square not too long ago. I'll give you props for that. But how many Badniks have I stomped? How many times have I sent you packing? I've beaten you before, Eggman. A lot. And I'll do it again.
~ Sonic the Hedgehog​
Pre-Gen Stamina Upgrade:

Extremely high. (Sonic can fight for hours without tiring and can take large amounts of punishment with only mild annoyances. He can endure things such as holding onto a rocket that's leaving the atmosphere, taking direct plasma blasts head-o, and harsh beatings. Despite this, Sonic always recovers moments later.

Pre-Gen Range (Base) Update:

Standard melee range normally. Extended melee range with basic sword attacks. Tens of kilometers with various attacks and abilities.

Pre-Gen Intelligence Upgrade:

Combat/Tactical genius. Sonic's combat experience has made him very skilled, formidable, and experienced in combat despite his younger age. He has gone toe-to-toe with people who trained in martial arts their entire lives with his own fighting style, focused on complimenting his ability to curl into a ball, which utilizes high-speed offense and defense. Sonic is also a cunning and tactical fighter, as has shown a willingness to manipulate a fight to be on his terms as well as using the environment to his advantage in multiple ways. Sonic also has perfectly precise control over his speed and mobility, enough to create sculptures in seconds, run in between falling raindrops, and even across tightropes while carrying another person. Sonic has also been shown to be capable of fighting and even defeating a large variety of opponents. Noteworthy individuals are evil super scientists, formidable powerhouses, similar speedsters of equal or deadly skill, merciless machines dedicated to researching and fighting him, experienced robots, deadly wizards, enhanced mobias with thousands of years under their belt, a deity of time, and a ruthless Chaos Force Demigod.

Powers and Abilities:

Pre-Gen Sonic:


  • Transformation (Can transform through the Chaos Emeralds, Power Rings and Chaos Energy, or a Super Emerald)
Post-Gen Sonic:

-Sonic Ma


Pre-Gen Super Sonic:

This one might be contested, but the only thing that goes against it is the Dark Mobius timeline. Has he been drained of energy by specific inventions of Eggman to siphon Chaos Energy? Sure. But Super Sonic has never been seriously harmed on any occasion, only moved by the force of attacks. Even his fight with Hyper Knuckles didn't have an impact on him besides both of them being thrown about. It was only when the zone collapsed and Sonic was thrust into his base form did he feel dazed.

Post-Gen Super Sonic:

Post-Gen Super Sonic should have invulnerability as well due to some of the same reasonings. He has never really been harmed by normal attacks to my knowledge.

Pre-Gen Sonic:


  • Spin Dash: Sonic curls into a ball and begins spinning rapidly from a stationary position to charge up, then launches forward with enhanced mobility. Sonic has also been shown being able to bounce and deflect himself off of objects for greater defense and mobility.
  • Homing Attack: Sonic performs a mid-air Spin Dash that homes in on opponents, striking them with perfect aim. After hitting, the attack's force will cause Sonic to bounce off the target. This allows him to attack the same enemy repeatedly, or attack other enemies in his range.
  • Sonic Spi Sonic curls tightly into a ball and rams enemies as a concussive force or cutting disk. This move has been shown capable of effortlessly cutting through thick steel floors, as well as shearing off a cliff. He has also been shown capable of doing something similar with his hands to effortlessly shred handcuffs, and also helps Sonic defend himself from being grabbed.
  • Supersonic Spin: Also known as the Triple-S Spi. A variation of the Sonic Spi, used to launch Sonic into the air and allowing him to burrow upwards.
  • Super Peel Out: Also known as the Figure-Eight Peel-Out. Sonic begins to move his legs in a pattern similar to the "infinity" symbol to build up speed while remaining stationary, or allowing him to move at speeds faster than he's normally capable of. In one instance against the Egg Beater, he used this move to cross the continent before returning and ramming into his opponent at breakneck speeds.
  • Invisibility: By repeatedly twisting himself at fast enough speeds, Sonic can turn himself invisible and fight while hidden from sight.
  • Intangibility: By vibrating his molecules at fast enough speeds, Sonic can turn himself and others intangible to pass through objects, attacks, and barriers.
  • Laser Glove: A special feature installed in his glove by Eggman. By putting his right hand on top of a pad covering his knuckles, Sonic is capable of shooting lasers from his left glove.
  • Burrowing: By using his Sonic Spin, Sonic is capable of burrowing through the ground at high speeds. This allows for defensive maneuvers to escape troubling situations and hide from sight.
  • Dust Clouds: By moving in circles around his enemies in a sufficient environment, Sonic can create clouds of dust to confuse and blind enemies.
  • Fissure: Sonic runs circles around the opponent, cutting a hole in the ground to drop them in a trench and bury them alive.
  • Enhanced Durability: Due to the amount of Power Rings Sonic has collected, he has greater durability than he normally should. A robot that spent three thousand years of studying life forms took note that he's exceeded the limitations that sentient life should be capable of. Sonic has also survived being thrown 849,000 light years across the universe in a short timeframe.
  • One Billionth Power Ring Aura: A constant, invisible, passive aura that always surrounds Sonic at all times, gifted to him by The Ancient Walkers after collecting his Billionth Power Ring. It has been shown to act on it's own volition to protect Sonic on several occasions. It has restored Sonic's physical and spiritual essence, absorbed and retained his Life Force, has nullified magic that's targeted him, and even brought him back after being erased from existence by the Ultimate Annihilator after it overloaded.
Post-Gen Sonic:

  • Spin Attack: While moving at high speeds, Sonic curls tightly into a ball and rams enemies as a concussive force or cutting disk.
  • Homing Attack: Sonic performs a mid-air Spin Dash that homes in on opponents, striking them with perfect aim. After hitting, the attack's force will cause Sonic to bounce off the target. This allows him to attack enemies again immediately afterward (potentially repeatedly), or attack other enemies in the vicinity.
Both Sonics:

  • Boost: Accelerating to top speeds while coated in a blue aura, Sonic rockets forward as a highly destructive projectile to mow down anything in his way.
  • Afterimage Creation: Sonic moves at high speeds to create afterimages of himself, which is used to confuse opponents.
  • Chaos Control: With a Chaos Emerald handy, Sonic is capable of warping the fabric of space-time by manipulating Chaos Energy. This can be used for a variety of different powers, such as to instantaneously teleport himself as well as other people objects across vast distances, open gateways (portals) through space-time to travel from one place to another, perform inter-dimensional and time travel, pause the flow of time to immobilize enemies for potentially decades, manipulate matter, and so on. The magnitude of this power depends on the amount of Chaos Emeralds Sonic has with him.
Pre-Gen Super Sonic:

  • Forcefield Creation: Enveloping himself in a golden aura, Sonic creates a protective forcefield around himself. This can also be used to fire multiple beams of Chaos Energy, which allows for simultaneous offense and defense.
  • Holy Manipulation: A passive effect used to continuously weaken beings of negative or evil energies, such as when he did so with the angered Perfect Chaos or Enerjak.
Both Super Sonics:

  • Reality Warping: Sonic can use the power of Chaos Energy to warp reality, such as when he was able to rewrite history on a planetary scale.
  • Existence Erasure: The Chaos Emeralds have been shown capable of erasing people from existence, making it as if that never existed in the first place.
  • Sealing: The Chaos Emeralds have been shown to be able to seal beings inside of them, such as Mammoth Mogul.
  • Conceptual Manipulation: With Chaos Energy, Sonic is able to rewrite or destroy the very concepts that shape reality. As shown as when the Chaos Force and Illumina were erased during Sonic's attempt to reverse the Super Genesis Wave, as they are both confirmed to no longer exist in the Post-Super Genesis Wave timeline.
  • Charged Chaos Control: After just seconds of charging, Sonic is able to rewrite the entirety of the multiverse in several ways using Chaos Control. Should be comparable or greater than the Super Genesis Wave used by Eggman and Wily due to sharing the same source of power, who attempted to use the Chaos Emeralds to rewrite both multiverses in their own image by warping reality, removing memories, erasing beings, changing history, and manipulating all laws of both multiverses down to the finest detail to make them gods.
Ultra Sonic:

  • Elemental Manipulation: Sonic can manipulate the elements at the atomic level with his mind alone, as displayed when he fought Ugly Naugus.
  • BFR: By opening a portal, Sonic is able to use this to suction enemies. He can send others to the Zone of Silence, and presumably to any other location of his choice.
  • Adaptation: Sonic can adapt to his surroundings, such as when he transformed to match the heat of a desert, the cold of a tundra, and the plant life of a forest.

Keep in mind I don't read too much Archie, so there's probably a crapton I missed. This will keep changing, so everybody be sure to take note on that.

  • 'Burrowing: By using his Sonic Spin, Sonic is capable of burrowing through the ground at high speeds.
  • Fissure: Sonic runs circles around the opponent, cutting a hole in the ground to drop them in a trench, burying them alive.
  • Combat Instincts: Thanks to his immense combat experience Sonic is capable of fighting like normal and pulling off evasive maneuvers without forethought, enabling him to respond to attacks much swifter than most enemies.
  • Chaos Control: With a Chaos Emerald handy, Sonic is capable of warping the fabric of space-time by manipulating Chaos Energy. This can be used for a variety of different powers, such as to instantaneously teleport himself as well as other people objects across vast distances, open gateways (portals) through space-time to travel from one place to another, perform inter-dimensional and time travel, pause the flow of time to immobilize enemies for potentially decades, manipulatie matter, and so on. The magnitude of this power depends on the amount of Chaos Emeralds Sonic has with him.
 
Conceptual Manipulation: With Chaos Energy, Sonic is able to rewrite or destroy the very concepts that shape reality, shown as when the Chaos Force and Illumina were erased during Sonic's attempt to reverse the Super Genesis Wave as they no longer exist in the Post-Super Genesis Wave timeline.

This is irrelevant but, can we add more detailed explanations on why Sonic or the rest of the crew has very haxxed abilities like conceptual and law manipulation? Or at least link blogs explaining why like the fate manipulation. I feel like when people that aren't familiar with Archie SOnic sees his profile and gets stuff like that they're just gonna think it's wanked without any explanations. Like SuperBearNeo for example.
 
But still, Neo isn't the only one. Not a lot of people besides us don't know how haxxed Sonic is. They just think he op because he can destroy multiverses

@MYHERO I suppose so and didn't SuperBearNeo was referring to Base Archie Sonic's speed rating and one of his wins against Lavos (despite him having a vastly superior hax advantage against Archie Sonic but we just go with it)?
 
Quick question for you guys.

Have either Sonics ever been shown using the boost technique? Like the one from the games?
 
Finally got around to updating that terrible intelligence section (inspired by Maverick's own intelligence description of Game Sonic).
 
@Antvasima Thanks. Everybody here agrees with it including Cal, but this thread is going to be pretty long. I'm reading through the series and cataloging stuff with scans, and I'll be requesting more input once it's actually finished.
