True but that was when Chrono had fought Queen Zeal, later in the game he defeated Lavos Core, who should be above Queen Zeal.
 
So if we're actually doing this, Maria takes this pretty easily, no? Her AP is superior, she isn't particularly weak to any of his abilities and isn't going to run into issues of acausality and resistance. I suppose fire resistance might come into play but she leads with normal weapons/guns/blood first so that isn't a huge deal.

My vote sits with Maria.
 
@WeeklyBattles Same way any protag beats their ridiculously overpowered antagonist- luck, PIS and very specific resistances.
