It works on evil or negative energies. Perfect Chaos wasn't really evil either, just filled with negative emotions and holy manipulation worked perfectly.

It comes from his passive aura which allows him to nullify evil/negative energies from other beings.

Rimuru is a magic user, right? If he is, that really puts a dent in most of his abilities, considering Sonic's Aura nullifies it

Rimuru can use magic, but his Skills don't count as magic, and he depends mostly on them.

He is user of Ultimate Skills. Anybody who has Ultimate can be harmed by anything that is not an Ultimate Skill. That gives him resistance to everything, and resistance to everything is hard to list. Before Leon's Purity beame an Ultimate Skill, it was probably working similarly to that aura, only more directed, and Rimuru would just brush it off.

Sonic's holy manipulation works on 2-A abstract beings. That's way above Rimuru's resistance.

Yeah, somebody might wanna close this. I don't think he'd be able to kill Sonic past his Immortality, and his Fate Manip + Holy Manip would secure this pretty tightly.
