Myth characters with no canon

Are they allowed now? Cause mythology verse has a lot of them on the page. If yes, then why was the Gingerbread Man profile deleted when it actually has a story similarly to the Tailypo. Also I had previously made a Bigfoot (Myth) profile under the name Sasquatch (Myth) and it was deleted. Santa Claus (Myth) is very...inconsistent with no consistent story, others who have no canon are:

Cegua, Redcap (Myth), Chupacabra (Myth), Thunderbird (Mythology), Loch Ness Monster (Myth), Tarasque (myth), Golem (Myth), Ghoul (Myth), Wendigo (Mythology), Strigoi, Oni (Myth), Buggane (Myth), Nachtkrapp (Mythology), Paul Bunyan (Myth), Nuckelavee (Myth), Aswang (Myth), Kelpie (Myth), Gashadokuro, Jersey Devil (Myth), Kobold (Myth), The Bogeyman (Folklore), Death (Folklore), Old Father Time, Samodiva (Myth), La Llorona (Myth), Bunyip (Myth), Mongolian Death Worm, Tokoloshe (myth), Griffin (Myth), Catoblepas (myth), Hippocampus (Myth).

So what are the rules about this?

@HeadlessKramerGroff777, you should probably do a CRT or you can contact Knowledgeable Member of Mythology to comment here

@HeadlessKramerGeoff777, it seems like a content revision thread would be more helpful.

I don't think those mentioned myths above should be removed from here. But we have to make a content revision thread so we can define what can be considered canon or not.

Just base the profiles on verifiable myths, legends and accounts (for more recent entities) you find on reliable sources. If feats from one mythology contradict others or are very different, make keys for both mythologies. For example, depending on the mythology, Thunderbird is a a bringer of storms, the bringer of the great flood or even the creator of the universe.

It honestly feels like the current rule is to pick and choose what stays and what gets axed based on arbitrary variables, so we need more consistent rules. I know of a lot of cryptozoological creatures that would be fun to make profiles with even some Tier 1 stuff.

My main issue is that it would allow urban legends. Which unlike Fables and Creepypasta stories, they have no canon or orginal story. I recomend just using documentries or the like if people really want to make characters like these.

Urban Legends would be tricky, since the difference between them and modern folklore (like Mothman, Dover Demon, Flatwoods Monster, etc) is pretty hard to define.

Edit: I agree that Urban Legends are a bit to murky to allow too, since they never have a clear "main" version.

@Darkanine

Do you have any suggestions for how to word an instruction rule for the Mythology page?

It would probably be good to ask Matthew to comment here.

I would also appreciate further input from Darkanine.

I think Matt has some kind of plan regarding characters based on Mythologies and all that.

I'm against including something without a definable canon.
Me.

The ones that are from Greek Mythology are fine. The ones which are blatant nonsense urban legends / cryptids should be deleted.
