I don’t have the scans, but at some point there’s some statement along the lines of each brane layer being more infinite and possessing a greater scope than the lower branes. This alongside the name being a term specifically used to describe a higher dimensional space which lower dimensional structures and spaces exist within was used to justify each brane layer being an additional infinitely sized dimension above the main multiverse and the lower brane levels. There was probably more supporting info to it than that, but that was the main gist of the original upgrade to 1-C.
