Weapons questions

For a character obtaining a new weapon that scales in another tier, do I need to make a crt for this or can I just apply the weapons tier into the characters page?

So for example, a character is 8-A, he gets a new weapon and that weapon is 5-B, can i just put it on the page?

Unless it's fixing something minor, every change to a profile requires a CRT if I remember correctly.
