I've got a structure that seems to have a void of nothingness inside it, but isn't affected by it and somehow controls it.
Would this make the larger structure 1-A or would that imply some additional layers into that tier?

Assuming this void of nothingness is 1-A, the destruction of the structure itself will give the same level as the void of nothingness.

If the void of nothingness is 1-A then yes but not every void of nothingness is 1-A structure.

Voids of nothingness aren't inherently 1-A just for being voids.
