Timed abilities and speed

Character A has a power up that can only last 5 minutes, however he's FTL so wouldn't his speed make the timer pointless since 5 minutes in a fight between FTL characters be pretty much endless?

What about if we equalize speed in a VS Match?

I mean, contextually, it could be 5 minutes from the perspective of the guy

Fiction doesn't usually explain this kind of thing, like time stops having duration when time itself is frozen, but like jojo has poked fun at, and stek said, the duration might be from the perspective of the user.

So in this case, the timer would matter more the closer the speed gap is, like, if the user being ftl makes him 5x faster than the opponent, 5 minutes to them would be 1 minute to the enemy.

But if the enemy is human levels of speed, well it would appear instateneous to them, like a good old speed blitz.

It matters more if the enemy can survive those 5 minutes and if the speed amp is massive, because once it runs out, it means you are fighting against someone with comparable and very high durability

I think we just ignore this kinda of stuff most of the time , as long as there are enough feats demonstrating then being much faster than indicated by the timed ability
